Can you please tell me your favourite ready meals, I can't cook currently as I've broken my shoulder.
Charlie Bighams prob a bit pricey and M&S don't deliver so unfortunately not them, I've access to delivery from anywhere else though thanks.

Cook are very good. We only use them occasionally though for special occasions. Can you not get M&S ready meals delivered by Ocado? The Waitrose Italian and Indian ranges are v good too.

Comedycook · 07/12/2025 16:18

The Wasabi ready meals are pretty good imo...I get them in Sainsbury's...not sure where else sells them. They are often slightly cheaper with a nectar card.

mondaytosunday · 07/12/2025 16:22

I like Tesco Finest range. Most are tasty.

Alicorn1707 · 07/12/2025 16:25

@LarryIsMyRomanEmpire wondering if you know that Marks is available through Ocado (if they deliver in your area ofc)

LarryIsMyRomanEmpire · 07/12/2025 16:32

I'm in Scotland, no Ocado.

Cook too expensive too really, I mean fine as the odd treat but this could be weeks.
If it was summer I'd be buying prepared and the wee tapas bits you get but I really want hot meals.

I liked Wiltshire farm foods especially the beef stew type dishes. They come straight out the freezer.

Anyahyacinth · 07/12/2025 16:55

Not being funny but this is one of those disability costs people don"t want to believe in and would then get all wound up by people saying they have M&S food delivered to cope (whilst they are on benefits because they'd like a hot meal).
Cheap things would be rice sachets, cooked pasta sachets and stir through sauces, with pre grated cheese to top them, nice pre made salad, bag salad...all possible single handed, using scissors to cut the steam vent, bags of microwave steam veg, then add sliced meats or hummus and beans (again sold sometimes in sachets with added flavours) for a buddha bowl🫶🍀 Sending healing vibes ✨️

What’s your local area like? It might be worth asking a local pub that does food what they would charge for seven meals a week. Or perhaps someone would be willing to do you an extra portion each day to reheat for a reasonable price

Sorry, I'm not following, what has this got to do with benefits?

I'd rather not, I've enough to sort out one armed and in a lot of pain, supermarket ready meals are easy, I was just hoping people might have recommendations of ones they particularly like.

Yeah, no.
I'm 48, not 98.

Sainsbury's Taste The Difference ones are good, even better if youre able to add veg alongside.

AgnesMcDoo · 07/12/2025 18:04

I find Tescos and Tescos Finest aren’t bad.

NDornotND · 07/12/2025 18:05

My brother swears by the Morrisons ones. Worth a try.

RendeersDancingTowardsChristmas · 07/12/2025 18:13

Second Tesco finest.
Also if you need to watch the pennies Tinned soups & bread followed by one of chocolate microwave puddings is a Saturday favorite in muy house!

Chazbots · 07/12/2025 18:17

The meal prep companies that fitness dudes use might work for you?

I think Prep Kitchen is one I've seen mentioned but I've never used them.

Some areas have private meal companies too, we've tried to get older relatives to use...

Tesco Finest Keralan Style Chicken Curry with Butter Cumin Rice
Tesco Finest Fish Pie

fionaapple · 07/12/2025 18:30

Aldi tuna pasta bake
m&s butter chicken curry
m&s mushroom parpadelle
Sainsbury's paneer tikka masala

Endofyear · 07/12/2025 18:36

Tesco Finest do a lovely beef stroganoff, parpadelle with ragu and thai style red chicken curry (not spicy) I haven't tried the others but I'd bet they're pretty good too.

Flinderskleepers · 07/12/2025 18:46

Not quite a ready meal, but loads of the filled tortellini or gnocchi is really nice with ready made pasta sauce. And literally takes 5 mins (if not less) to put together

FrJohnnyHellzapoppin · 07/12/2025 18:49

The Gym Kitchen range at Asda and Tesco microwaveable meals are usually tasty, usually include fresh veg
