Aldi own brand decaf is great!

Cityzen74 · 29/10/2025 09:13

My favourite is PG Tips decaf

Flamingmentalcats · 29/10/2025 09:15

I have found PG Tips to be the nicest decaf tea and Kenco the nicest coffee

KrystalStubbs · 29/10/2025 09:44

Another vote here for Aldi's own Brew

Twinings English Breakfast decaf is excellent, doesn't feel like a compromise at all.

Yes - Aldi own-label tea bags.

This. My DS drinks them and says they're good. He's 15yo.

Another vote for PG tips decaf 😊

The caffeine is extracted in two different ways. One uses chemicals that they say does not remain in the final product but often affects the taste. The second way is water/ CO2 which leaves a better flavour and no nasty chemicals. Its down to us, the consumer to ask each brand how they do it. The cheaper end will be chemically extracted.
i use Miles tea, order it online. Best decaf loose tea or teabags.

Ah yes, our decaf coffee is virtuous organic beans from the refill shop which we grind at home because we're so precious, and the lady did say something about cold water extraction possibly. I really hate instant coffee unless my grandpa is making it for me with boiled milk in a saucepan in 1981 (fully caffeinated, what a time to be a five year old)

Justputsomeyoghurtonit · 29/10/2025 12:20

Haven't rtft but I drink Yorkshire, use two bags and let it sit for ages. Good dollop of milk and microwave for 30 secs to heat it back up.

All the other tea bags are pretty grim.

Thomson’s Decaff tea in my favourite. And yes I’ve tried quite a few. Good luck!

Troubler · 08/11/2025 14:00

I am trying the Sainsbury’s decaf bags based on this thread. Only £1.65 which is more than half the price of the branded ones!

RedRiverShore5 · 08/11/2025 14:03

DH likes Waitrose brand ones

I thought as much

Its the same with coffee to be honest. I wonder what the decaffing process does to take the flavour out?

I can’t tell the difference. I only really drink instant though.

AimInCup · 08/11/2025 14:06

Twining English Breakfast Decaf .. very tasty and love it

LadyLolaRuben · 08/11/2025 14:06

Tetley and M&S I find are best

barskits · 08/11/2025 14:17

We usually drink Tetley tea, and have their decaf as well. You can't tell the difference.

JacknDiane · 08/11/2025 14:20

Im actually loving Yorkshire decaf tea now

Doesn't stop me needing to wee at least twice a night though

unleashthebook · 08/11/2025 19:05

I drink Yorkshire and can’t tell the difference 🤷🏼‍♀️

CarpeVitam · 08/11/2025 19:42
