Vegan nut roast 42p

I bookmarked a recipe for a Jack Monroe nut roast after someone recommended it on here. Just looked at it and its only the list of ingredients, not the method. And her website isn't working so I can't find it there either. Does anyone have the full recipe please? It has some unusual stuff in it, including marmalade and fruit juice, if that helps narrow things down!

Don't bother. All her recipes are foul, dreadful slop.

Given current prices of nuts etc I doubt you could make a nut roast for 43p.
The original Cranks created the nut roast as a gateway food to vegetarianism in the 1960s. Their recipe assumed it might be tricky to source some items. link to their recipe and method below.
Grape tree sell bags of mixed broken nuts that work out cheaper than many supermarkets.

Nut roasts go back before Cranks, although nut cutlets might have been more common. I wish I hadn't got rid of my copy of Modern Vegetarian Cookery (Penguin) by Walter and Jenny Fliess, first published in 1964. Second-hand copies are still available. I think that might have some nut savoury recipes. This blog post, though, has found recipes from over a century ago, one of which the author has tried out. https://gggiraffe.blogspot.com/2008/04/nut-roast-in-history.html

No but have made plenty of nut roasts and they are basically about mixing the ingredients up and squashing down into a loaf pan.
If anything properly needs cooking before going in the oven do that first (e.g. lentils if dried not canned, onions and other veg might need a little bit of frying etc). Anything too big may need chopping/blending. Nuts in particular - you don't want them whole but don't want dust either. Anything in between will be fine.

Usually take quite a while to cook, look at some other recipes online for an idea.

If you don't have a loaf tin they can be cooked in any shape.

The marmalade is intriguing...I did once see a Jamie Oliver nut roast that had a separate sauce for on top so hopefully this isn't the case here or else you probably do need the actual recipe!!

There's a Jack Monroe nut roast recipe on this thread. It doesn't sound great, tbh (she doesn't come well out of it either). https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/food_and_recipes/4965235-jack-monroes-festive-nut-roast

This must be your list of ingredients. If you were set on trying it, I'd use the method on the MN thread I've linked to above. It looks as if the mandarins are used in place of the marmalade, or vice versa. https://www.copymethat.com/r/vxRXCkmA6/vegan-nut-roast-42p/
