Vegetarian alternative to bacon butties

I usually make portobello mushrooms with cheese (my vegetarian friends all eat all cheeses), and maybe cooked sliced tomatoes.
Some eat eggs so that is an option but some don't.
Ideas please!

Just check with your friends first, I’m veggie and don’t eat any fake meat at all, I find them all disgusting! I’d love halumi or thin sliced tofu. We buy tofu sausages from cauldron which are great in a bap with some ketchup.

In the oven i do halloumi, tomatoes, mushrooms, some garlic black pepper, thyme, until done (half hour maybe?). It's amazing on toast, breakfast or in a butty

Long term veggie here. I've been missing out! I've never once been offered a veggie equivalent to a bacon butty - normally get left out!

I like cauldron sausages but really not fake bacon. If I'm honest I don't know anyone who really does. sausage, halloumi, big mushroom or egg would be preferable

If they eat fish then they’re not real vegetarians - they might just identify as vegetarians.

Mushroom "bacon".
Sliced Portobello mushrooms marinated in soy, olive oil, smoked paprika and a dash of maple syrup or brown sugar. Maybe a dash of Worcester sauce.
Pan fry adding extra soy if it needs it.
Or oven, on a oiled baking tray 160 fan for 30-40 minutes until very brown.
Keeps for a week in the fridge.

That's a shame @socialdilemmawhattodo. So if others were eating bacon rolls, and I said I'd make you whatever you wanted to go in your roll, what would you wish for?
