As per the title - what’s the last cookbook that you bought?

I’m tempted to get the new Anna Jones, the last book I bought was the Tom Kerridge Pub Kitchen - although yet to cook from it…!

Chicken by Claire Thomas

The secret of cooking by bee Wilson. Like a cross between nigella and nigella slater. Loved it so much when I got it for Xmas I've just bought for a friend. All the recipes are realistic and actually work!!

Ottolenghi Simple.

WibblyWobblyWeeble · 17/03/2024 20:14

Probably Jane Grigson's Vegetable Book and probably about 20 years ago.

tarheelbaby · 17/03/2024 20:19

It's been a loooonnnggg time. I discovered most of these giant, shiny tomes were in the library. So I checked them out week by week, tried the recipes and wrote down any successful ones from Jamie Oliver, Ken Hom, Carluccio's and more.

Nigel Slater The Kitchen Diaries, love his writing.

C1N1C · 17/03/2024 20:33

Jamie Oliver's. The fire burned hot that night :)

Me too, have been working through it since Christmas. It's fab, everything I've tried has been great and it's lovely to browse/read on the sofa of an evening

This book.
I wanted a more practical book that uses leftovers. My most used recipes are from the Melissa Helmsley/Meers Sodha books & other more everyday recipes that use food in season. Not necessarily Ottolenghi!

The Plain Cake Appreciation Society arrived yesterday for me, lovely book. I have made chocolate cupcakes this morning :)

Mezcla - can highly recommend.

villamariavintrapp · 19/03/2024 18:40

Edd kimber. It was impulsive, haven't looked at it yet

NCForQuestions · 19/03/2024 18:42

The Wagamama Cookbook.

Previous was the Ten Minute Mowgli - absolutely shite, don't bother. The original Mowgli book is great. This one feels made up with shit recipes from the Internet.

The Roasting Tin - Around the World.
Some cracking recipes and so very easy to do.

Moonshine5 · 19/03/2024 18:47

Supa Ya Ramen

Highly recommend

Bitter by Alexina Anatole (not sure if this counts as it as a 99p daily deal, but I’m loving it so far)

I also have my eyes on three upcoming books! Sift by Nicola Lamb which I have already requested as a birthday present, I’ll Bring Dessert by Benjamina Ebuehi, and Dinner by Meera Sodha.

I can't wait for that Meera Sodha book.

Pompoms88 · 22/03/2024 07:07

@Cantonet Melissa Hemsleys books are the most used in our house too. I need to get a Meera Sodha

@pompom I've just realised I can't spell Hemsley, without my phone adding an L.
I currently have an obsession with Rice-ey things & have made the Melissa Hemsley Filipino Chicken & Rice soup twice this week, plus the one pot tomato rice that's so easy & simple.
I've just ordered this book by Julius Roberts, as I've been following him on Instagram for a while and his recipes look so accessible & seasonal. Plus, he popped up on one of the Ottolenghi you-tube sessions a while ago & was so very charming.

Dinner by RecipeTinEats blog writer Nagi Maehashi. Best cookbook I’ve had in years!!!!

Have made around 15 dishes from it so far and it is very popular!
