Just that really!

Normal stuff that we usually eat.

Boxing Day will be leftovers but after that 27th will be a turkey bake my mil makes every year. Then Mexican food, pizza, salmon and potatoes, freezer food.

Then on Hogmanay we'll have party food and New Year's Day is steak pie (traditional in Scotland).

thedamnseason · 20/12/2023 19:25

The first few days is basically a regular stream of cheese, quality street and other snacks. Then we get sick of it and order a Chinese or something. Very little planning happens.

DreamingInPhosphorescence · 20/12/2023 19:27

Some variation on chocolate, cheeses, crisps and wine.

Myhusbandearns150k · 20/12/2023 19:27

Fish pie!

JustOneMoreBaileys · 20/12/2023 19:29

For some weird family tradition reasons, normally egg and chips features on one of the nights.

I think because it is relatively bland food 😁

ElevenSeven · 20/12/2023 19:30

Nachos, leftovers stuffed into toasties for the toastie machine’s short annual appearance, and haggis at NY thanks to my uni days in Edinburgh - I’ve got all of my very English family, very into it!

Olika · 20/12/2023 19:31

Every day food from Boxing Day onwards and then something different on 31st and 1st.

OhThatHappenedWhatNow · 20/12/2023 19:39

Lots of different variations of bubble n squeak because it’s my favourite so it will be in patties with cold meat and pickles
rough chopped and fried with beans and a fried egg
gammon egg and chips as it’s DDs favourite
left over cold meats again with smashed potatoes and some type of veg
New Year’s Eve I’m going to make creamed potato’s and leeks with a leg of lamb and other green veg
lots of cheese and chocolate and I have a choc panatoni to have with baileys
and I’ve made a batch of sausage meat, stuffing, Brie and cranberry sausage rolls, a la tick rock

once we get bored of that it will be shepherds pie and back to the normal before everyone pretends they are going to be healthy in 2024

jay55 · 20/12/2023 19:40

This. And buffet food!

DrFoxtrot · 20/12/2023 20:05

I don't know what I'm having tomorrow 🙈 let alone between Christmas and New Year! Probably whatever is in the house.

Bbq1 · 20/12/2023 20:09

Stealing some ideas from this great thread!

Hedjwitch · 20/12/2023 20:12

I didnt know people planned food for this time. It will be leftovers, sandwiches and pasta until New Year when I might make an effort.
DH will be in hospital this year having heart surgery so New Year will probably be the Christmas dinner he missed.

Turkey curry

Justme10 · 20/12/2023 20:29

Left overs, party food, snacks and probably a couple of takeaways Grin
Then steak pie on New Year's Day.

Whataretheodds · 20/12/2023 20:38

Depends how much time we're away staying with family. At my parents there will be Turkey sandwiches, turkey with bubble and squeak and chips, turkey curry, vegetable/lentil or split pea soup made with turkey stock. Then substantial everyday meals like lasagne, baked fish and veg, curry.
At home we'd eat more meat free meals

catsnore · 20/12/2023 20:52

A raclette has been requested in our house. Also pie for days when we are out/working. At some point will have seafood like salmon or lobster - probably NYE.

Oh and Christmas pasta shapes of course 😂🎄

pretzelbreath · 20/12/2023 20:57

Christmas ham, cheese and pâté on crusty bread

Poblano · 20/12/2023 21:29

I'm cooking the ham on Boxing Day this year. I normally do it on Christmas Eve, but this year we're having Lamb Shawarma with salads and dips for a change.

This means there will be leftover turkey and ham, plus stuffing and pigs in blankets for several days. This is actually my favourite Christmas food. Add in fresh bread, crisps, pickles and some warm sausage rolls and I could eat it every day.

There will probably also be turkey and ham pie, ham and chips, and warm baguettes with turkey, cranberry and stuffing. Probably some kind of turkey and vegetable soup.

Saturday 30th I'm planning a charcuterie board. NYE we're going out for a meal. New Year's Day will be roast beef.

Diet starts January 2nd...
