What's your quickest, easiest meal for children?

abigaillockhart · 07/03/2008 18:57

I always end up serving gnocchi when I'm not eating with children. Tonight they had it with veg (frozen) and salmon fillet (microwaved). Took about 4 mins in total.

Would love some new really quick ideas for those days when you don't get in until 5 and need something speedy.

You don't get in 'til 5 and you need something speedy? What are you talking about, we don't get in 'til 6 most nights and we still manage to cook properly. DD is still in bed by 7pm.

gegs73 · 07/03/2008 19:22

omelette - also one of the few ways I can get veggies into my son if I mix it in.

barbamama · 07/03/2008 19:26

indiechick - do they get time to digest? htf do you do dinner, bath and bed that quick? Takes me hours.

BBBee · 07/03/2008 19:29

pitta (fropm freezer)
grated cheese
cuc
houmous
beetroot
cherry toms

sonicdeathmonkey · 07/03/2008 19:29

Microwave rice, frozen peas put in a bowl with boiling water for about 3 mins, grated cheese and some kind of meat (left over roast chicken, chopped up ham/cocktail sausages etc).

All mixed together - done!

BBBee · 07/03/2008 19:31

oh and if I know it is a crap meal (e.g. pasta and butter) then they are presented with a 'starter' of a bowl of beetroot, cuc, cheery toms, ham, cheese etc and a cocktail stick.

Eat your heart out gordon fing ramsey.
