Talk to me about hot dogs!

The (adult) dc are coming for dinner at the weekend and have requested a hotdog feast! What can I do with them?

So far I’m thinking:
hotdogs
onions
crispy onions
gherkins
American mustard
barbecue sauce
sauerkraut if I can find any

chipotle roasted corn on the cob

Wedges? Or would potato salad be better? Anybody got a nice recipe for one that isn’t too mayonnaise-ish? Or another idea? Sweet potato wedges never seem to work for me.

Some kind of coleslaw?

Not chili sauce but how about coney sauce aka coney islands? Sauté ground beef add diced onion and red (or any color) diced pepper. 8oz tomato sauce 1/2 tsp chili powder and paprika. Add to taste…brown sugar (white will do) salt pepper Worcestershire sauce(if available) and bit of mustard. Add water to help mix. Simmer for maximum flavor on low heat covered or uncovered. It will thicken a bit. The sugar is essential so don’t skip that. It’s a very flexible recipe and so yum! NO BEANS!

What veggie hotdogs do you use?

Fry's - sometimes (but only sometimes, annoyingly) to be found in Sainsbury's.

Not veggie, but for carnivores, try the Firepit sausages from Tesco!
