Any good tips about what I can do with leftovers?

Chill, roll into balls, coat with egg and breadcrumbs and fry.

Stichintime · 06/11/2022 19:10

Eat it. Always taste better the next day.

Justmuddlingalong · 06/11/2022 19:10

Toasties.😋

Frenchfancy · 06/11/2022 19:11

Just reheat the next day. I find you need to add a bit of milk as it goes a bit solid.

Dandyrose · 06/11/2022 19:18

I honestly didn't know you could reheat it - assumed it would go weird with cream!

As per PP, shape into patties and fry and eat as burgers. Yum

PortalooSunset · 06/11/2022 19:29

In a wrap, toasted in a panini press/George Foreman.

Wow, really, you didn't know that it tastes even better heated up the next day 😁

LouLou198 · 06/11/2022 19:38

Eat it Smile I always make macaroni cheese the day before, it tastes so much better the day after!

Violettaa · 06/11/2022 19:38

I did know you could hear it up (ambrosial), but I did NOT know about toasties. Bloody genius.

Pebbles16 · 06/11/2022 19:48

How is there EVER left over macaroni cheese?

MariposaSpain · 06/11/2022 19:49

Cream and more cheese. Heat cream gently, add cheese. Then final macaroni

Bigslippers · 06/11/2022 19:52

Its usually better the day after but pop some milk or extra cheese sauce if you have any as it gets a bit thicker
Been craving mac cheese for days now OP so Im going to have to make a huge batch tomorrow
Cant beat it served with garlic bread

Dandyrose · 06/11/2022 20:13

Will I reheat in microwave or pan? I feel so embarrassed asking!

Microwave or in the oven covered with foil

Liquorish · 06/11/2022 20:17

I heat it in a pan and enjoy the crispy cheese bits.

Cream?

The recipes I've used don't use cream, am I missing something?

My go to macaroni recipes involves making what is essentially a bechamel sauce, which then gets cheese melted in it. Gruyere and parmesan, plus nutmeg/mustard.

NannyR · 06/11/2022 20:19

Next day macaroni cheese is the best! I reheat it in my air fryer - you get lots of crispy bits on top, but you could do it in the oven too. I prefer macaroni cheese on the drier side though, I don't like it too sloppy and creamy.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/11/2022 20:20

Toasties

ShinyPikachu · 06/11/2022 20:22

Another one here to say toasties. I like them done in a frying pan, butter the bread on the outside to make it nice and crisp, extra grated cheese in the middle with the macaroni too. Amazing.

I always make extra to do this but DH and DC always seem to finish off any leftovers however much there is. Envy

DogInATent · 06/11/2022 20:22

Cream?

I just microwave it the following day. If I've deliberately made enough for next day leftovers It might get heated in the oven under foil.

But cream in mac'n'cheese, are you posh or summat?

TomTraubertsBlues · 06/11/2022 20:24

It's not the standard recipe, to my knowledge.

BigFatLiar · 06/11/2022 20:24

What is this thing you refer to as 'leftover macaroni cheese'?
Surely you mean seconds.

Cleothecat75 · 06/11/2022 20:25

I make loads and freeze it in portions, then reheat in the microwave when I want it. I was concerned about freezing it, but it is as delicious as ever when reheated. B

Spooky, I've just been watching an American making macaroni in a restaurant on You Gotta Eat Here. And yes... he used cream and cheese, no bechamel.
