With my birthday and Christmas on the horizon its time for my annual cookbook wish list update! I buy quite a few but hoping for some gems i might have missed. We eat pretty much all types of food but my preference is for middle Eastern and Asian food.
I'll start with my most used books this year;
Turkish Delights
Persiana Everyday
Dominiques Kichen
Flavour

Taste Tibet. Beautiful book. I mostly make the curries and dals because they’re so good! Definitely plan to branch out to another chapter soon though…

This thread is costing me a fortune! 🤬😂

Thanks. I've spotted that. I'm going to look in Costco some time this week as they usually have a limited selection of cookbooks at very good prices, so might even be cheaper than that, otherwise I'll order it on Prime later in the week.

A charity shop find - Jewish Cooking my Marlena Speiler. I think it was published in 2000. I recognised all the recipes - I've seen them all in modern day Ottolenghi books.

Just read an unusual one from the library, An Everlasting Meal.

Thank you 🙏 @EnglishGirlApproximately, great thread! Absolutely love it and all things food!

I have many cookery/recipes books. This time off year I get my Christmas ones out and put some of my others away (to make room 😬) I love looking at cookery books and choosing something different to make/eat when food planning.

Two recent purchases have been Nigella Cook, Eat, Repeat; and Nigella Christmas. My first Nigella books, late to the party I know. Chosen a few recipes out of them to try over the coming weeks.

Not so recent purchases have included a couple of Nisha Kotona books. The Spice Tree & Mowgli Street Food … both excellent.

Im still thinking about which one is my favourite!

That Moro book looks fab, one for the list! Glad that I'm not the only one that struggled with the Roasting Tin books but I'll give them another try to see!
@TheRealHousewife that's just like me - I can happily spend a day off flicking through cookbooks even if I don't cook anything! From Cook, Eat, Repeat try the fish finger bhorta. I thought Nigella had gone mad when she made it on the show but its honestly delicious, I make it fairly often now.

I had the green roasting tin and gave up after the fifth failed recipe. They were either bland or unbalanced.

Kwoklynn Wan's Veggie Chinese Takeaway Book was a surprise hit. I live near a Chinese supermarket which helps. DH won't order a chow mein anymore, they're never as good as the one in the book. The recipes are very quick to cook after you get everything prepped. I don't think anything has taken more than 30 minutes from start to finish with the two of us cooking.

Higgidy The Veggie Cookbook has also been brilliant. If you're not a veggie, their pie book is also brilliant.

I love cookbooks, and have hundreds. This year my best books have been

The nutmeg trail by Eleanor Ford (if you haven't got her fire islands that is outstanding!! But it came out a few years ago - nevertheless it's in my top ten best cookbooks ever)

Home Food by olia hercules is outstanding, I think her best book to date, and they are all wonderful, but this one feels a bit more personal and accessible. It rarely leaves my kitchen since I've bought it and I risk needing a new copy because it's been splattered a LOT. Imo that's the sign of a great cookbook.
