Other than eat them or bin them!

I made Creme Egg Slow-Cooker Chocolate Cake, which was very good.

What else can I make with them?

I would donate them to a food bank because I really dislike them

Classic mumsnet

This did make me laugh too.

5 creme eggs will surely come in handy for someone trying to cook a meal for their family! Lol.

Honestly, if you walked into a food bank with 5 creme eggs they would probably take them off your hands but also would be a little insulted and think you were totally out of touch.

At least grab a box of cereal or some other basics to take with you. Food banks are on their knees at the moment.

cookiemonster2468 · 09/05/2022 17:54

OP I would just eat them or give them to friends/ kids :)

Eightiesfan · 09/05/2022 17:54

I would carefully cut the top of each one, scoop out the disgusting filling and then proceed to eat the now empty egg.

In shocking news people who use foodbanks may also want some chocolate alongside stuff to make a nutritious meal. They may have children who rarely get things like cream eggs.

What's the rush?

They'll be fine for months. Put them in your baking cupboard and make the Creme Egg Slow-Cooker Chocolate Cake next time you fancy it and can't get creme eggs because they're out of season.

mycatallowsmetolivehere · 09/05/2022 18:40

I think you are definitely BU to still have them in the house
I'd have eaten two one a day and they'd be gone 🤭

RishiRich · 09/05/2022 18:43

Eat them two at a time, baby!

TooManyPJs · 09/05/2022 18:44

Send them to me. I'll PM you my address. 😬

Athleticpotential · 09/05/2022 18:44

I'd leave them in the staffroom at work.

isthismylifenow · 09/05/2022 18:48

Wanders over to Tiktok....

withacherryonthetop · 09/05/2022 18:48

Im impressed you haven’t eaten them. I love a crème egg. I’ve not tried it but I’ve seen these ‘scotch eggs’ with a crème egg inside a rounded brownie. I would love to try one they look incredible. A billion calories bur probably worth it

Hugasauras · 09/05/2022 19:01

I bloody love a Creme Egg.

Here's 11 recipes you can use crème eggs in:

APurpleSquirrel · 09/05/2022 19:04

That link doesn't seem to work - try this & search for crème eggs:

But they're not even 'food'

Peak MN.

Is that a compliment or an insult? I honestly have no idea 😄

This is fabulously joyless approach to food! Food is fuel. Its also fun for most people who aren't purely utilitarian in their approach.

Now, get yourself over to the Style & Beauty section and find a handbag thread so you can tell everyone on there that a sainburys bag for life would carry their things just as well and those who buy designer bags are foolish. Im sure there's going to be a few on the holiday threads who are planning on wasting money and time sitting on a beach for a week, when they could spend the week learning about another culture , otherwise it doesn't count as travel...

Some things can be nice and fun and enjoyable - not just improving.

Don't get so worked up. Creme eggs are just sugary pap crammed with e-numbers. OP was asking what to do with them and that's my 10 cents worth.

And for what it's worth I love a designer bag and travelling first class to a lazy beach holiday 😁

But thanks for your input.

blinkybilll · 09/05/2022 20:28

Wow this thread is ridiculous. Just when you think people can't their heads any further up their arses.

People using food banks are allowed to have a treat you know. The ones I donate to will take anything that can contribute to making a meal or put a smile on someone's face. I always put something sweet in with groceries to donate.

If you don't like crème eggs you don't need to comment that you don't like them just scroll past. The op wanted ideas to use them up not snarky people remarking on their nutritional value etc.

Months? Years!!

@sleepygal

A Cadbury Creme Egg is a chocolate confection produced in the shape of an egg

chocolate confectionery means any food that is meant to be consumed as a sweet snack and which contains chocolate and/or other ingredients

readingallthebooks · 09/05/2022 20:38

Friends at Uni used to put crème eggs in vodka. They melt and it is delicious

Dilbertian · 09/05/2022 22:01

Emotive things, Creme Eggs. Whodathunkit?Grin

FWIW I agree with most of you: they're disgusting, delicious, non-food treats that everyone deserves a chance to have if they like.

Like the idea of melting them for a sauce. But I still want to know how to incorporate them into a cheesecake.

Only 4 left now. One's in a little jar of vodka in the airing cupboard, next to the Fruit Pastille vodka Wink

Maybe this is why they're only on sale for a limited period each year. People get in too much of a tizzy over them.

Joystir59 · 09/05/2022 22:04

I can't stand them, gritty oversweet things. I'd still eat them. All in one go. Or through them away. I wouldn't define Cadburys Creme eggs as a 'food stuff'.

Yawn. You marketing people can extrude creme egg speak out of your poop chute till the end of time, they're still not food. They're barely 'confectionery'.
