Tell me where you got your best saucepans!

After two rubbish attempts in the last 3 years, I need to replace my pans again. I had a Tefal set for about 12 years before they needed replacing but newer versions just don't seem to last.

What brands do you have?

Must be able to go in the dishwasher!

Many thanks

Le creuset. Expensive but indestructible.

hoping2016 · 02/03/2022 11:08

Totally agree - expensive but soooooo worth it!! Frying pans aren't quite so good but the saucepans love them! Put mine in the dishwasher sometimes need a bit of extra wash by hand bit that's probably me being fussy Smile

DoNotTouchTheWater · 02/03/2022 11:13

Honestly, IKEA 365+. By far the best pans I’ve had. Much better than much more expensive ones. And totally dishwasher friendly.

ChickensForTheHound · 02/03/2022 11:15

IKEA!

spagbog5 · 02/03/2022 11:17

@pumpkinmash

Le creuset. Expensive but indestructible.
This completely

Go for catering equipment, it's built to last and withstand heavy use.

Laska2Meryls · 02/03/2022 11:20

Stellar 1000 - had them over 20 years still like new

Marmite27 · 02/03/2022 11:24

We have a mixture of pro-cook and IKEA 365+

Reallybadidea · 02/03/2022 11:30

Stellar. Great saucepans, not ridiculously expensive and have a lifetime guarantee.

Otherpeoplesteens · 02/03/2022 11:32

We have a set of Zwilling Henckels Pro pots which I suspect would be one of the few things in this house to survive a nuclear apocalypse. They are oven proof up to 200 C.

Although they are dishwasher safe the care guidance recommends washing by hand. Maybe that's a hint as to longevity.

SatinHeart · 02/03/2022 11:48

We have Anolon hard anodised ones. They're fab, dishwasher safe and non stick as well.

PP saying Le Creuset, has anyone tried their non-stick range or does everyone have the cast iron ones?

Georgyporky · 02/03/2022 11:50

Prestige Lifetime. Must be over 20 years old, always in the DW.
However, the glass lids break if you drop them on a quarry-tiled floor Shock

Georgyporky · 02/03/2022 11:51

I had to give away my Le Creuset as they became too heavy for me. They had wooden handles, so could not go in the DW.

meloncolic · 02/03/2022 11:55

That’s so funny, we really hate our le creuset! Bought all the metal pans (already had enamel Dutch ovens which are fine) so bought the le creuset. Frying pans are okay after 10 years, pans are incredibly heavy and awkward and the glass lids are all misty.

We co locate due to work and tbh the crappy light IKEA pans and the enamel pot I once got free with Tesco vouchers (berndes?) are both far easier to use. I am a good and daily cook and have worked jn lots of restaurants so it’s not like I don’t know what I’m doing.

Think I’m going to spring for one All Clad to see how I find it - does anyone have any experience?

inappropriateraspberry · 02/03/2022 11:56

Tesco Go Cook, but don't think they make mine anymore! Plain silver - steel or aluminium? Work on our induction job, go in the dishwasher and have lasted over 10 years and still looking good.
A good weight, but not too heavy.

meloncolic · 02/03/2022 11:58

We have allll the le creuset: regular metal pans, cast iron pans, non stick. We got a lot of vouchers when we got married.

It is a really interesting actually because of the co locating thing we have a lot of doubles and IKEA comes up as top trumps on a lot of things…!

badkitty · 02/03/2022 12:02

Le creuset are ridiculously heavy, I wouldn't use them if you paid me! My favourite saucepans are the cheap ones which I got in Woolies about 20 yrs ago, all beaten up now but I love them. I let ex-H take the fancy expensive ones when we got divorced as they were too heavy. Might get a couple of IKEA ones at some point.

eldorado02 · 02/03/2022 12:04

Le Creuset triple ply steel saucepans - worth every penny. Less spenny but a close second are Ikea365+ saucepans. Avoid Le Creuset non stick frying pans, though. Shite.

ThatDreamSheep · 02/03/2022 12:04

We have Fissler, got them years ago with Tesco vouchers and all look brand new still. My mum had a set of Fissler pans last for over 35 years!

ODFOx · 02/03/2022 12:07

I have a mixture of Stellar pans from 1991, le creuset non stick frying pans which have all peeled round the edges, and a couple of cheap Judge non stick casseroles which are used at least twice a week.
DH has bought me the full granite range from pro cook but I've said I'll keep them in the box until we get a new kitchen. To be honest they are heavier than I would like and would probably go through the bottom of the drawers in my wobbly old kitchen!

roastedbroccoli · 02/03/2022 12:07

De Buyer. Lots of the stainless steel ones are DW safe and although the carbon steel ones aren't, they are honestly a breeze to clean because they're so smooth - just wipe off with oil and keep hot. I have cast iron pans from other brands which are less smooth and much harder work.

DillonPanthersTexas · 02/03/2022 12:17

*Le creuset. Expensive but indestructible#

Pretty much this, you can pick them up second hand as well. I have mix of my mum's old pans as well stuff I have bought myself.

tuppencenonethericher · 02/03/2022 12:18

Scoville Neverstick, and they're often half price in Asda or Argos - bargain! I've switched all my frying pans so far and pots will be next.

AlexandraPeppernose · 02/03/2022 12:27

Prestige stainless steel saucepans purchased 2004

Carbon steel wok and frying pans treated as they should be and oiled after every use. 1 yr old but should last for decades and totally non stick now. Were all less than

Authenticcelestialmusic · 02/03/2022 12:31

Prestige - fantastic pans and not too heavy.
