After two rubbish attempts in the last 3 years, I need to replace my pans again. I had a Tefal set for about 12 years before they needed replacing but newer versions just don't seem to last.

What brands do you have?

Must be able to go in the dishwasher!

Many thanks

Another vote for IKEA 365 I love them.

iwantareindeer · 02/03/2022 13:01

Thank you! Lots to explore and brands I'd not heard of. I agree I love or crueset for cookware but I find the pans too heavy. That said hadn't realised they had some without wooden handle. I would have totally written off IKEA but will take a look.
Many thanks!

I've got a mix of Stellar (that came really cheaply from Homesense), and Le Creuset.

KillingEvenings · 02/03/2022 13:03

I still have my stainless steel allclad from when I got married 20 years ago (and I'm a regular and decent cook) and stay are still going strong, but about 2 years ago I got some ingenio pans and they are now what I use daily. Non stick so very easy to clean and no handles (or detachable handle) means they stack (which brings me so much joy) and we use them as our serving dishes for day-to-day dining. I think you need to get their more expensive line though (the name changes every few years) as the cheap ones (essence) seem very light weight and I don't think would weather very well. Even the more expensive ones aren't budget breaking though when you get a set

IKEA 365! Had mine years and they have been through a lot.
Once I truly cremated some caramel in my big one and thought it was a gonner but a couple of trips through the dishwasher and it was like normal again.
Also they come in a vast amount of sizes.

ReflectiveJournal · 02/03/2022 15:05

@SatinHeart

We have Anolon hard anodised ones. They're fab, dishwasher safe and non stick as well.

PP saying Le Creuset, has anyone tried their non-stick range or does everyone have the cast iron ones?

My Le Creuset ones are the stainless steel and are fabulous. I've all but abandoned my (beautiful but stained) enamel ones.
mrsbyers · 02/03/2022 15:10

Le Creuset triple ply stainless , those saying they’re too heavy mean the cast iron enamelled ones presumably which I agree with but the ss ones are fantastic and come up sparkling

Stellar, the best I've ever had (including Anolon).

FluffEverywhere · 02/03/2022 15:15

Green Pan! I love them!

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 02/03/2022 15:34

John Lewis Classic....mine are 30 years old and if I was a decent housewife they would look at good as new. The insides are immaculate, they do have some heat marks to the outsides. They go in the dishwasher, and have metal lids so can go in the oven.

I have the lidded casserole a giant buffet lidded casserole, milk pan and a large frying pan.

I used to use them in the range, hence not wanting long handles.

Bongespobsparepants · 02/03/2022 15:39

Le creuset. If we are nuked cockroaches and these pants will survive! They are indestructible - but also very heavy, weak wrists and ceramic sinks beware. Most best of all though they really distribute heat evenly, I use one big one almost every day for hob and oven.

Bongespobsparepants · 02/03/2022 15:40

Pans, not pants. Unless you have mythril pants.

Sexnotgender · 02/03/2022 15:42

@tuppencenonethericher

Scoville Neverstick, and they're often half price in Asda or Argos - bargain! I've switched all my frying pans so far and pots will be next.
That’s what I’m using too, after forking out fucking loads on green pan which are shit.
stuffnthings · 02/03/2022 15:50

Stellar, last years and not overly expensive. Harts of Stur often have v good offers.

JesusSufferingFuck22 · 02/03/2022 16:06

Kirkland ones. Bought on sale about 10 years ago from Costco. Some sort of layer of copper and aluminium in the base I think. All I know is that they are good. Also some Emrill Lagasse (celeb chef in USA) pans bought in the USA about 20 years ago. Still going strong.
Also Walmart cast iron skillets and a Dutch oven. Lost one through to my dh neglecting it but re seasoned it and it's ok now.

JesusSufferingFuck22 · 02/03/2022 16:06

*oops cast iron can't go in dishwasher🤦🏻‍♀️

Came to say this.

I have mainly ikea but I bought two of the key creuset 3 ply ones in the January sales and I love them. Will be replacing most of the ikea bit by bit over the next few years I think

londonmummy1966 · 02/03/2022 17:59

I also have the Le Creuset triple ply steel saucepans - I have had them for years now and they are great - not heavy and dishwash well. If never had too many problems cleaning them either - when I've burnt something - happens far too often as I get easily distracted - I soak them overnight with a couple of Sterident and they are good as new in the morning.

Choccyp1g · 02/03/2022 18:02

Woolworths.

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 02/03/2022 18:39

Cristal are the best Ive ever bought, spendy of course but will last a lifetime. I also really rate Silit very good quality. Le cruset - don't get the enamelled cast iron sauce pans they are far far too heavy for every day use (learnt the hard way). Fine for Dutch ovens but not saucepans.

4merlyknownasSHD · 03/03/2022 09:00

Cristal, Scanpan or Le Creuset Stainless steel all good. We have Kuhn Rikon which are excellent and slightly cheaper. Why do people put saucepans in the dishwasher? They take up so much room, probably cost more to wash than in a sinkful of water and it doesn't really take very long to wash a saucepan.

Sgtmajormummy · 03/03/2022 13:26

This Frabosk 20 cm set is the one I bought for DC1 leaving home. The brand is sturdy and I still have one of their huge 10 liter pasta pots from our wedding list.

But nowadays I cook for 3 and I use a 20 cm stainless steel pan with steamer/colander and lid from LIDL. It’s light, induction compatible and easy to clean. I think it cost about €20.
Plus a Lagostina pressure cooker.

Everything else stays in the cupboard most of the year.

Justmuddlingalong · 03/03/2022 13:34

I bought a stopgap set from matalan 20 years ago. They cost a tenner. Still going strong.
