I'm looking to try cheese from other areas, my favourites are Beauvale Cropwell Bishop and Sharpham Brie

Love goats cheese but not yet found a creamy favourite not fussed about cheddar.

Any suggestions for me please?

Gjetost and Manchego

Prima Donna, it’s a cross between gouda and Parmesan. Yum!

Cooleeney - a full flavoured cows milk soft cheese with flavours of mushroom and oak. It melts and is delicious.
Blacksticks Blue. Yummy !
Wensleydale with cranberries or apricots. Delicious.

Lovely suggestions thank you! Not a fan of Gouda, I'm more of a soft cheese person. Dh loves a mature Cheddar and loves Yarg.

Cambozola. Although I don't have a brand in particular.

lostteaspoon · 30/01/2022 20:46

Wensleydale. Amazing with Christmas cake

Cornish Yarg is good. I also like Doux de Montagne and Ossau-Iraty, which are both soft cheeses (by my standards but with hard rind rather than edible rind). Morbier is also lovely if you don’t mind a touch of blue but might not be as soft as what you’re looking for.

Brillat-Savarin. It’s very creamy and seems to get to spreadable temperature quicker than other cheeses. It’s absolutely delicious. A guilty pleasure of mine is a wedge of that with kettle chips to scrape the melty side bits up.

Curiousmouse · 30/01/2022 23:41

Pecorino
Roquefort

TheGratefulBread · 31/01/2022 11:51

Any type of Wensleydale, but especially partial to Wensleydale with mango and ginger.

Snowdonia Cheese Company's 'Pickle Power', it's a mature cheddar with chunks of pickled onion, and well, I'd happily graze on it all day!

tintodeverano2 · 31/01/2022 11:56

Cheese. Any type

Gladioli23 · 31/01/2022 12:04

Délice de Bourgogne is an amazing soft cheese. Also love Baron Bigod.
Suffolk Blue is also v tasty if you want a blue.
I enjoy Capricorn goats cheese as well.

itwasntaparty · 31/01/2022 12:07

Comte

sadpapercourtesan · 31/01/2022 12:09

Vignotte. I've never had a cheese that came anywhere near it. It has a silky smooth texture that is to die for, and incredible flavour.

I like washed rind cheeses - try Stinking Bishop - which, although smelly, isn't too violent on the tastebuds. If you can find it, Ardrahan (Irish) cheese is very good, too - and there's a Sussex cheese called Burwash Rose that's a new favourite of mine. Hope you find and enjoy them!

Also love ossau iraty from any supermarket, usually Sainsburys-where the TTD Stilton & Cheddar is vg too

NewYearEveryYear · 31/01/2022 23:31

For a creamy (and yet lemony) goat I recommend Monte Enebro.
