absolutly must have for all kitchens.

ArcticRoll · 20/12/2007 16:34

I think they're fab as means I don't have to peel potatoes and guarantees no lumps in mashed pots.

ally90 · 20/12/2007 16:35

I'll get one

thanks

ally - where are you getting one from? I've been after one for months and can't find one anywhere?

pleeeeeeeeeease tell me where I can get one from

ArcticRoll · 20/12/2007 16:43

I bought mine ages ago from (whisper)Lakeland.

Niecie · 20/12/2007 16:43

Just thought I would add to the list of those recommending them. They make such smooth mash.

Found this one in Lakeland Thats where I got mine.

Niecie · 20/12/2007 16:45

Why did you whisper Lakeland Artic Roll? Have they done something awful and been blacklisted? Am I doomed to join them now for linking to their site?

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 16:48

bought one.

Thanks
xx

ArcticRoll · 20/12/2007 16:52

I used to have a serious Lakeland catalogue addiction when my dc were tiny but I am now in recovery!

vio · 20/12/2007 16:53

they are great! bought mine from Lakeland. worth spending the money.

Niecie · 20/12/2007 16:58

Thank goodness for that ArticRoll!

I know what you mean. I try not to order from them as you go on their site for a box of freezer bags or something tiny and come away with a bill for £60! I fall for the free postage if you spend loads everytime.

Quick work SponkaClaus - you obviously are a very disciplined shopper and have resisted the lure of the website!

Hulababy · 20/12/2007 17:10

I love my potato ricer. Bought one after seeing them recommended here on MN. Wouldn't be without it. Infact using it very soon - DD wants mash. Nice, quick and easy.

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 20/12/2007 17:12

Erm 'scuse my numptyness but .... ArcticRoll, do you really mean you don't peel potatoes?

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 20/12/2007 17:19

Waiting with peeler poised over bin......

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 20/12/2007 18:04
ILiveinhope · 20/12/2007 18:32

BALR,

You don't need to peel potatoes with the Ricer. The ricer removes the peel after they have been cooked. HTH

Hulababy · 20/12/2007 18:39

You definitely don't need to peel the potatoes. I just microwave the potato until cooked, cut inhalf, and then use the ricer to mash. the skin stays inside the ricer, the riced/mashed potato comes out other side.

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 20/12/2007 18:42

You mean, you mean that you actually cook them in their skins and press them through the ricer, bit like a gigantic garlic press?

My head is actually going to explode.

Hulababy · 20/12/2007 18:44

LOL, yes as simple as that!

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 20/12/2007 18:44

Sweet farking chocolate buttons !!!!

Why has no-one told me about this before

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 20/12/2007 19:02

Oooh oooh oooh could I use it for swede and carrot too or is it exclusively for potatoes?

TenLordsaLapin · 20/12/2007 19:04

You can use it for whatever! You get gorgeous smooth mash.

Can I nick "Sweet farking chocolate buttons !!!!" it's my new fave expression, along with "that's crazytalk!"

GColdtimer · 20/12/2007 19:07

I saw one in our local hardware shop yesterday and thought "what is the point of that". Am off back there tomorrow to get one now!

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 20/12/2007 19:12

Have just told my DH about the skin thing in awe, as he insists on having riced mash. Makes a farking mess though!

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 20/12/2007 19:12

Ally, thank you for this thread, so sorry for hijack, my head has exploded
