It's like danish Blue/Stilton, but softer, like Brie!

I had some at a friends house a while ago - months ago in fact, and she can't remember what it was called and neither can I.

Lizzylou · 12/11/2007 17:14

And Gorgonzola

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/11/2007 17:14

I was going to say St Agur - does anyone know what the semi hard transluscent orange coloured cheese is ? it's horrible, imo, but am curious as to it's name - might be Norweigian

BettySpaghetti · 12/11/2007 17:14

Ha! we both spelled it wrong so don't worry

lemonaid · 12/11/2007 17:16

There's an even creamier version of Dolcelatte called... umm... Torta di Dolcelatte or Crema di Dolcelatte, or something like that.

StealthPolarBear · 12/11/2007 17:16

MAS, are you thinking of red leicester?

Lilymaid · 12/11/2007 17:18

The horrible Norwegian cheese is Gjetost

tissy · 12/11/2007 17:20

oooh!

We had two Norwegian AuPairs when we were kids, and they used to bring back that cheese as a treat!

lilymaid!!
thanks!
i've never known the name of that cheese that is my one!

they used cheese slice to get very thin melty slice of this too when served

aDadGoneMad · 12/11/2007 17:33

yes could be any of the ones mentioned really: dolcelatte, cambazola and St Agur all fit

saltire · 12/11/2007 17:34

Had to go and sort out the Dses - again - DS1 was watching match of the Day from saturday, DS2 came into kitchen and said "He's not watching it, hes watching wrestling", so DS1 pulled DS2 down the stairs, banging his head all the way down, and is now yelling at me telling how he gets the blame for everything and he didn't do anything

OP posts:
Unfitmother · 12/11/2007 17:34

They're both gorgeous!

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/11/2007 17:35

HairyIrene - might be that, def not Jarlsberg - it seemed to be like a kind of gum/resin - bought some at Waitrose many years ago
