Sorry this is too late, but I like sanchi (from sainsbury's. Good luck!

rantinghousewife · 08/11/2007 10:41

Give me a minute, I'll just have a google

bagpuss · 08/11/2007 10:42

How odd, I was thinking of some miso this morning too - trying to be good and not eat so much rubbish! I have never bought it before either. You'll have to report back if you find a good one!

rantinghousewife · 08/11/2007 10:43

It's hana shiro

rantinghousewife · 08/11/2007 10:44

sainsburys stocks sanchi but I didn't like that one.IIRC

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 10:46

the one I saw yesterday in Waitrose was ClearSpring - looked nice - with sea vegetables - but it said to measure a cup of hot water and being pathetic I didn't know how much that was....

Start with a normal cup (not a mug) and if it's too strong add a bit more.

shrooms · 08/11/2007 10:48

A cup of water? It's like, a mugful. Just put the miso in a mug and top up with boiling water.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 10:48

not an American cup which might be a specific measurement ?

OP posts:
rantinghousewife · 08/11/2007 10:50

Yep, start with that, you can always water it down a bit.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 10:52

ok ! I hear it is very healthy too !

rantinghousewife · 08/11/2007 10:54

HairyIrene · 08/11/2007 10:55

make your own!
get miso from health store, stir in last is japanese tip..
miso soup is lovely very good for ya
esp if you can get hold of diakon (mooli) radish

ds only eats green soup (veg only)

use bit of miso as bit of stock in other things too

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 10:55

rantinghousewife · 08/11/2007 10:59

Was it the Sanchi one, that one was revolting!

HairyIrene · 08/11/2007 11:04

maryannesingleton
i dont really have recipe,
jsut do my own thing mainly veg (carrot, diakon, cabbage shredded, other veg you like / have) soup with tofu and miso at the end..sprinkle with nori..

idont eat meat but you can add it chopped

rantinghousewife · 08/11/2007 11:05

That's a good idea HI, I've used miso as a stock to make mushroom soup, v. nice.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/11/2007 11:06
