Well that's it really. I know you are supposed to eat breakfast but I can't face food much before 10, just drink loads of coffee.

So who does eat breakfast?

OP posts:
RGPargy · 09/10/2007 23:03

I get up at 6.45am but cant face anything til i get to work. I do get a coffee at the station on the way to work tho. Foodwise, I normally go for a toasted bagel with jam or marmalade at about 10am.

Seona1973 · 09/10/2007 23:05

I have breakfast with the kids around 8am - tends to be some sort of cereal and a cup of tea (for me!)

SSSandy2 · 09/10/2007 23:07

Are you hungry at 8 seona?

I have Oatsosimple with raisins and all bran and a cup of coffee - at about 7.45. I'm always hungry at breakfast time!

not particularly, but I dont think it would set a good example to the kids if they were eating and I wasnt. When I was working I never ate breakfast which is bad

It may sound anal, but breakfast comes in stages. Pint of water first thing, with lemon if I can be bothered. 20 mins later, an apple. another 20 mins and I will usually have porridge made with soymilk, flaxseeds, dried apricots, a banana, and some natural peanut/almond butter. Some cinnamon too. Sounds unusual but v. tasty. I love breakfast. Always hungry!

shrooms · 10/10/2007 00:00

I should add that in the 40 odd minutes that I am waiting for things to digest, I am perhaps helping the kids pack their things, less so now that they are older, so may be showering, cleaning, doing the mail. I don't just sit there!

themoon66 · 10/10/2007 00:00

Two mugs of tea at 6.45am. Then another cup at work at 9am, then a satsuma at 10am with more tea.

Oenophile · 10/10/2007 00:10

My appetite doesnt seem to start up till about noon and never has, can't say I'm any the worse for it, in fact I am at my most creative and energetic before I eat. DDs are old teens now but one eats fruit and tea, one has nothing except water, and my husband likes toast and cereal. Funny how people vary, isn't it - maybe I was raised a la CV and conditioned from birth to go 12 hours without

temmy99 · 10/10/2007 00:12

After I have dropped the kids off at school (9 am) walk the half mile to the station and pick up an egg muffin and latte at McDonald to eat on the train. ..... well by the time I have got the baby ready for nursery, the teenager to school and lastly the middle two to school, I don't have time to rush breakfast! Talking about breakfast, (sorry for the hijack) what do you feed a 15 months old for breakfast. The only thing i give ds2 (poor kid) is organic weetabix because it is soft and he enjoys it but everyday? I do want to change this but I don't know what too...

1dilemma · 10/10/2007 00:14

porridge, cup of tea as soon as I get up with the rest of the family.
Wheetabix if no porridge
Rice krispies if pregnant and off food or in hotel.
Pain au choc. or full English if in hotel, having a treat, once in a blue moon

Albert · 10/10/2007 00:38

Homemade muesli and a cup of tea at 6.30 this morning. It doesn't vary much although it might be peanut butter on toast (if I've managed to import some) or lemon curd if I've made it. And if I'm feeling healthy I might have melon or papaya as well.
Blimey, that sounds quite posh doesn't it. I should say that cereals in Brazil are over loaded with sugar and the only stuff you can buy to put on toast is jam or honey, neither of which I like.

Albert · 10/10/2007 00:39

Oh, and schools start at 7.30 here hence the totally stupid time

ghosty · 10/10/2007 05:00

I have to have breakfast. If I don't I am fainting by 9am and will gorge of something crap like a muffin or 6.
I eat between 7 and 7.30am. I will whole grain toast with peanut butter and jam or porridge with soymilk. The other night I made a big fruit salad before I went to bed and DH and I had it for breakfast the next morning.
Sometimes I soak oats in orange juice over night and the next morning mix in a mashed banana and a grated apple with some chopped almonds or hazelnuts and some unsweetened yoghurt .... ... YUM!

slim22 · 10/10/2007 05:14

7.00 lots of water

7.30 Herbal tea or milky tea or green tea

8:00
muesli and fruit or
wholemeal bread and cheese or
yogurt and fruit or
rice and yogurt or
tofu

Definitely not into anything too sweet nor juice.

MuffinMclay · 10/10/2007 13:29

Coffee and toast (and newspapers) at around 7.30 am, just after ds has had his. Occasionally cereal or meusli with fruit too.

I wake up ravenous.

Anna8888 · 10/10/2007 13:34

I drink a couple of cups of coffee (Nespresso) before taking my daughter to school at 8.30 am. And then, when I get back at around 9.30 am, I have a croissant or some baguette which I buy fresh from the boulangerie on the way back from school. And another cup of coffee.

Sunshinecursedmummy · 10/10/2007 13:34

2 bags of Worcester Sauce pretzels and a diet coke when I get to work at 08:30.

bethoo · 10/10/2007 13:35

just after fed baby at 8 i have cheddar and mozzarella omelette and dilute orange juice (that's high protein diet for you!)

fannyanne · 10/10/2007 14:03

I always have loads of coffee often starting at 5m if ds decides as he usually does to wake then, Then try to grab something, while dc are eating, but more often than not i feed them then eat some leftovers out of the fridge at about 9am I never seem to have enough time , i get too distracted lol

tasja · 10/10/2007 16:12

Luckily I'm a SAHM. I eat breakfast at 9:30.
Oats or toast

When I get up at 7:30 I make a cup of tea for me and coffee and toast for DH.

SmartArseCoveredinCobwebs · 10/10/2007 16:14

Orange juice at 6.30 then oats, yoghurt and raspberries at about 10.00.

(Except this morning: hot chocolate with cream and a pain au chocolat had more appeal!)

ComeOVeneer · 10/10/2007 16:16

I have hot water with lemon on waking, then once dd is dropped at school, dh at the station and ds at nursery, so about 9.20am I have either a homemade smoothie using various fruit, actimel light, semiskimmed milk and a handful of rolled oats, or porridge topped with fruit. Weekends is a treat of poached egg on wholemeal toast or pain au choc.
