Literally within 2 or 3 spoonfuls he's throwing up.

Tried on 3(maybe 4) separate occasions and it happens every time.

hmmm no idea, sorry but BUMP

startouchedtrinity · 12/08/2007 08:25

Probably the texture. My ds can't swallow it either. And tbh for me as an adult if it is mushy I can't eat it.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/08/2007 08:27

I've let it soak for a while each time so it's very smooth. He eats stuff far more texture-y than this.

I 'm really puzzled

maybe because that soggy mixture is just vile???????????

I have never been able to stomach it myself.
My DS was exactly like yours, and honestly could not blame him.
However, he loves munching on dry weetabix and has his milk in a bottle.
Just try something else.

TigerFeet · 12/08/2007 08:29

LTH you mustn't give him weetabix

He's only about 10 weeks old! Isn't he??????

THere is no way he is old enough for weetabix!

startouchedtrinity · 12/08/2007 08:29

I agree, there i ssomething foul about mushed weetabix. Esp. if warm. In fact warm milk used to make me vomit. I agree, just give him something else.

Marina · 12/08/2007 08:32

TigerFeet, he's 1! (just )
How is he with other gluten-rich foods LTH?
Agree the texture is a love-hate thing, but I wonder if maybe he could be gluten-intolerant?

Trinityrhino · 12/08/2007 08:35

lol tigerfeet, whos little one are you thinking of?

LadyTophamHatt · 12/08/2007 08:39

I wish he still was tigerfeet, he'll be 7 months on thursday

I mixed half a baby weetabix(why i bought baby ones I'll never know....3times the price of normal ones!!) with his ultimate favourite brekkie of farleys "lets see how much sugar we can fit into one biscuit" rusk and he stil threw up.

He's just wolfed down a rusk, diluted down with baby rice...The boy LOVES rusks!!

I assume it can't be any type of intolenace because it comes up too quickly....

LadyTophamHatt · 12/08/2007 08:40

actully , no it can't be intolence becuse he eats all sorts of gluten stuff thing without any trouble at all.

Blimey LTH, sorry - why did I think he was one!
I must admit I had heard Weetabix was best left until 12 months.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/08/2007 08:50

really marina?

I've never heard that before.
Maybe there my answer.

I gave my ds2 weetabix at 7 months and had the same reaction. Turned out he was allergic to wheat amongst other things. You might need to see your gp and get a referral. The wait to seen an allergist can be verry long.

mymama · 12/08/2007 09:04

Have you tried any other wheat? You might want to avoid all wheat until you sort it out.

Good news though is that my ds was able to eat wheat around the 2 year mark.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/08/2007 09:19

Theres nothing else that causes him to throw up mymama. He's swip a biscuit out of my hand if i wasn't careful. Stuff made using flour is fine too.

I think its just he's repulsed at them, which I don't blame him for TBH

OP posts:
startouchedtrinity · 12/08/2007 09:26

I think Weetabix is all fibre which is too much for lo's tummies. My ds loves rusks too.

mymama · 12/08/2007 13:27

LTH my ds was fine with rusks and the odd toast finger too until he had the weetabix.

Most likely to be nothing, just letting you know.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/08/2007 13:39

Thanks mymama....I'll keep a close eye on him.
He's just eaten a massive bowl of cauli/broc cheese so I assume the flour in the cheese sauce would have made him sick if its an allergy.

Hopefully its just that he can't stand the things

MerlinsBeard · 12/08/2007 13:47

He could be intlerat the mix of gluten/wheat and milk rather than any of the compnents themselves. I thought that wheat was ok after 6 months but maybe wait (at least in teh weetabix front)until he is older?

Just read that they are baby ones...have they more ingredients than normal ones? does he react the same to normal ones?

princessmel · 12/08/2007 13:49

Do you think he could be wheat intolerant?? Not sure if someone else has said it.

WanderingTrolley · 12/08/2007 13:55

I think you said it yourself in an earlier post.

He's sick 'cause they're 'orrible.

Or it's revenge for you messing with his rusk.

mymama · 12/08/2007 14:11

Does he like porridge? Could you give him that instead?

LadyTophamHatt · 12/08/2007 14:21

He likes porriage but it gives him runny poos.

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 12/08/2007 14:21

porridge even..

OP posts:
mymama · 12/08/2007 15:10

Possibly a link with the porridge and weetabix. A bit insenstive to gluten maybe? Gluten dense foods might upset his tum at the moment while he is still early weaning.
