Following on from the poo on the Tesco chicken and 'poisoned rice Krispies' threads, what have you found in your food, that wasn't supposed to be there?

Oil in a white sliced loaf: Piece of plastic in an M&S macaroni cheese: .
Stone in a Pret sandwich:

Mindles · 10/07/2007 10:26

A "thing", not sure what, maybe a maggot or something, frozen with my peas... This was years and years ago - they sent my mum a load of vouchers for different Birds Eye stuff.

Sixofone · 10/07/2007 10:26

A piece of blue brush bristle in a tub of Tescos Houmous (got environmental health involved and got £30 vouchers). Some glass in a slice of ham from somerfield deli counter. Got environmental health involved again and got £15 vouchers, very stingy I thought

binkleandflip · 10/07/2007 10:27

I have a real phobia about foreign stuff in food - because I always seem to be finding it:-

Plastic lid in beans
Foil in M & S salad
Hair in M & S salad
Worm in fish pie from Morrissons

Ewww!

LowFatMilkshake · 10/07/2007 10:33

Beetle in mullerlight - got £30 of Sainsburys vouchers

Wood chipping in coleslaw at restaurant - got free meal for me and DH

Know of someone who broke a tooth on a stone in the base of a 'stone baked' pizza and took the company to court for £5,000 for dental work and stress because they had to have dental treatment and they hate the dentist and got really really freaked out!

Hathor · 10/07/2007 10:40

Insects must like muller yoghurt

when i was younger i once chewed on a beetle in some beet greens, it crunched and it shoulden't have.. i don't think i have ever had beet greens again.

a piece of plastic in a m&s fish pie (money back plus new pie)

my mother once got stung by a wasp that flew into her beer can when she wasnt looking and stung her tongue. ouch

Katsma · 10/07/2007 23:30

A finger shaped blue plaster (you know, the ones that food prep people are supposed to see dropping off), in macaroni cheese in a cafe. Had blood inside it. Worst thing - didn't complain, was too busy vomming.

A bloody HUUUUUGE oily bolt in a can of butter beans from Tesco. Used to be very partial to them straight out of the tin.

Katsma · 10/07/2007 23:37

Oh, and a caterpillar in the salad of a sandwich bought from a petrol station - it was still alive!!! At least you know their salad is fresh

TippiHedren · 10/07/2007 23:38

A runner bean in Heinz baked beans.

handlemecarefully · 10/07/2007 23:39

NO! I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT READ THIS THREAD!

GreebosWhiskers · 10/07/2007 23:39

DH crunched on a piece of bakelite-type stuff in a restaurant - turned out to be a bit off the handle of the microwave above one of their cookers. The waitress dashed off with the offending item in a napkin & they replaced his meal & brought him a complimentary drink We wound up paying for the meal too as we were on holiday & didn't want to spoil it by causing a fuss! Wish we'd taken it further tho'.

Jenkeywoo · 10/07/2007 23:42

a small spider in a tin of spiderman pasta (ironic?) and a 20p coin in my kebab.

sparklygothkat · 10/07/2007 23:45

no cat food in a pouch, got a £5 voucher

CharleeWeasley · 10/07/2007 23:45

BARF @ this thread but

I found a ball of possibly goats hair in DS's goats milk which i brought the same day only to find after looking at the bottle it was 2 weeks! past it's sell by date. I made a scene in Asda and got £20........

I should have sued the dirty bast**ds

VeronicaMars · 10/07/2007 23:56

I once bit into what I though was going to be a cheese and onion crisp but it was in fact a smokey bacon one!

IsabelWatchingItRainInMacondo · 11/07/2007 00:01

Ladybirds in a salad, never came back for the money as if the beetle was living there it was probably because the salad was as fresh as advertised.

The proverbial half worm in apples and salads... three times

A cookroach leg in a pizza, they apologised profusely, blamed it in the ingredient provider, invited us for a tour to the kitchen and gave us a voucher for 5 pizzas. I thought they were going a bit further than necessary... but many months passed before I could consider the idea of having a pizza, no matter where from.

I've never found anything in my food, I eat too fast.

Made dd2 drink sour milk once - she was going through an 'i hate each and every food or drink item you offer me' stage, and we were out shopping, and when we stopped for lunch I bought her a carton of milk with her sandwich.

"This is yucky mummy"

"It's only milk, you like milk, drink up"

Child spits cottage cheese in slow motion onto plate.

Wearing my bad mother medal right now, as it happens.

jellyjelly · 11/07/2007 20:23

Have found blue plastic in a salmon pack of off cuts and pieces. First and last time i brought it.
