DD1 woke up at her usual vile early time, and to cheer myself up I made chocolate cake for tea-time(the yum nigella one with the sour cream) It's nearly ready, and it's smelling gooooood......fortify me against standing in the corner with my back to my children, eating it from the tin with a spoon.

FrannyandZooey · 07/07/2007 07:18

if you eat it now, you'll feel crap by about 9.30 and be craving more sugar

sorry to be dull

save it for tea time and enjoy it properly

don't come crying to us when you feel shaky about 10 am

Radley · 07/07/2007 08:24

tuck in, my dh gave my two dd's candyfloss for breakfast

Lullabyloo · 07/07/2007 08:32

dooooooooooooooont do it......put it away at once & make
some porridge....or you'll get the jitters

jaynehater · 07/07/2007 08:42

See, porridge is a problem here too. Despite fervent scottishness in all matters, DH never could get his head around porridge with water and salt, so takes all porridge-making duties firmly on his own shoulders. Unfortunately, he overcompensates for his deprived childhood by lobbing in anything from honey to double cream to maple syrup, (on occasion, all three) and thinks a light garnish of raspberries makes up for this. I can't believe we're not type II diabetics yet.

lol I only eat prridge like that too

I'll join you for the jitters cause I've just eaten half a packet of nice bicuits

Nbg · 07/07/2007 08:48

I'm eating lemon drizzle for breakfast.
If I had chocolate cake I'd eat that

sandcastles · 07/07/2007 08:58

It's 5.30pm here, so I say now is a perfect time for cake!

Lullabyloo · 07/07/2007 09:03

lol at you lot....how about trying agave syrup...gives you the sweet kick but not that terrible sugar rush

apple puree & nuts & seeds is good on porridge too..or mashed banana

justgivemeoneminute · 07/07/2007 09:07

Porridge???....oooh noooo....choccie cake for me with lashings of chocolate icing in the middle and melted chocolate on top...full of calories and full of yumminess!

I have just made some krispie cakes with marshmallow and golden syrup for a party. I turned the telly on for the DC so I could make them without them noticing as they'd want some. I ended up eating loads and now feel sick.

Chocolate cake sounds healthy in comparison.

justgivemeoneminute · 07/07/2007 10:47

....but chocolate is healthy, isn't it?

SpeccieSeccie · 07/07/2007 10:50

But is it too early in the day for second helpings?
