Looking for soft drinks without artificial sweeteners!

I'm planning a little Halloween party for my stepson and as a treat thought we could have cherryade and maybe orange/appleade as they are Halloween themed, however I can't find any so far which don't have artificial sweeteners in! My personal view has always been that soft drinks are a treat so when we/I do have them I buy those with sugar/naturally sweetened as I have bad reactions to aspartame!
Can anyone point me to some or similar? If all else fails I'll add cherry juice to sparkling water Grin

Prosecco

It’s so annoying. I rather pay the difference to make up for the sugar tax cost increase! I don’t drink soda much. Maybe once a month (if that!). But when I do, I want a normal one!

I'm sorry to say that sucralose is certainly not 100% natural. It's sucrose with an extra chlorine molecule bonded to one end. Please don't think of it as being safe.

Appletiser.

Just carbonated apple juice.

Tk maxx does a nice cherry one by soda folk in its small chill cabinet (if your branch has one(.

Fentimans ... I don't think they have sweeteners. Quite pricey though

Sucralose - while made from natural sugar, let me point out that cholrine is natural. Arsenic is natural. Lead is natural. Please don't be fooled that anything natural is good or safe. Your body is evolved to deal with synthetic sucralose. It's not designed to handle any of these synthetic sweetners. Sugar in moderation is the best option but instead now we are forced to drink poison so the fat cats can still make profit selling fizzy drinks. I would prefer the option to drink sugar in moderation but it seems now I'm limited to only fruit juice, tea, water etc. I worry that my 1 year old daughter will have no choice but to drink these poisons as she grows older.
Let me highlight some concerning things. Sweetners lead to obesity. Sweetners cause sugar craving because your body is now expectin calories from the sweetness that it doesn't receive. Sweetners cause diabetes. Sweetners harm the microbiome. Sweetners are excreted unchanged in urine and accumulate in the water. Water treatment plants cannot destroy some kinds of sweetners and they are accumulating like DDT in the environment. Remember DDT. MAde from natural chlorine and flouring and natural oil. We need to ban artificial sweetners now. This is the next big disaster story waiting to break.

I went to a KFC a few month ago. Ordered a coke by mistake. Took one gump of it forgetting all fizzy drinks are now synthetic sweetners. Felt sick for the rest of the day. On very rare occasions I used to have a coke or a lemonade. Now I will only drink orange juice if I don't want water or tea.

daddy555 · 05/05/2020 01:39

that should be one gulp

I'm afraid you are wrong sucralose is one of the worst
Increases Risk of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Crohn’s Disease
Several years ago, researcher Xin Qin, M.D., Ph.D, from New Jersey Medical School found that consuming sucralose causes IBS symptoms, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease

Cawson Press also do their juices in a tetra pack. I add my own sparkling water.

Antarcticant · 23/04/2022 11:29

I second the Cawston Press recommendation. Lovely - very sugary so not an everyday drink but perfect for a special occasion. The elderflower lemonade is my favourite.

Funny that this thread has picked up again, I was just wondering whether the situation has improved and was doing a web search.

I found this: www.sanpellegrinofruitbeverages.com/uk/beverages/organic/limonata
It seems San Pellegrino are now doing an organic limonata without sweeteners.

Just been to M & S for (high juice) squash, and they've turned too. Stevia, but it still tastes vile 😞

Artificial sweeteners make me ill. I was gutted when Ribena put it in ALL their drinks. I wrote to ask why we can no longer have any artificial sweetener free Ribena and they said that their tasters claim it tastes just as good as real Ribena. I explained it makes people ill and tastes horrible but their tasters obviously have very bad palates and so we all suffer. Maybe they should try getting people to taste that actually have a good palate. The government has really screwed us over. I don't care about the cost. I am severely underweight so the old formulation was my favourite. They also don't make it obvious on the label that they have put artificial sweeteners in and suggest it is the original flavour other than in tiny letters on the back. It was also a quick help for a diabetic friend. Just because some people are overweight doesn't mean we all have to suffer and get ill. Shame on you Ribena.

Cawston Press is good as a non-sweetened option. I also buy Belvoir cordials which do not contain anything artificial and make them up with chilled fizzy water. Ingredients for the Blueberry and Blackcurrant cordial are: Sugar, Water, Blueberry Juice 10%, Blackcurrant Juice 9%, Blueberry Juice from Concentrate 7%, Citric Acid (suitable for vegetarians and vegans).
