Sounds lovely, definitely one for DD1 to make - she loves to cook but I don't always have the time to supervise her. Thanks!

Greensleeves · 31/01/2007 16:23

Oooh, lisalisa that sounds really tasty - my boys would love it!!!

And I have two boxes of lasagne sheets in the cupboard....

Imafairy · 31/01/2007 16:24

sounds yummy!

DarrellRivers · 31/01/2007 16:25

Definitely sounds good and much much easier than stuffing canelloni tubes with frozen spinach( v time consuming and v cold fingers!)

auntymandy · 31/01/2007 16:32

rifgr need to go shopping!!! again

Tatties · 31/01/2007 16:34

Yes once I bloody piped spinach & feta puree into cannelloni tubes - never again!

amidaiwish · 31/01/2007 16:41

brill

sounds fab - so much variation to be done on that theme - its stored in my memory now.

bossykate · 01/02/2007 12:14

good food mag is the business, i love it it is so realistic...

AitchTwoOh · 01/02/2007 12:15

sounds great. i love cannelloni but the blimmin tubs are always in shards by the time they're unpacked. this is a much better idea. do you know that canneloni is also nice (and cheap, cheap, cheap) if you stuff it with cottage cheese in place of ricotta?)

DumbledoresGirl · 01/02/2007 12:18

Won't be trying the recipe as my children will eat spinach the day the grass turns blue, but thanks for the tip of soaking lasagne sheets in hot water to make them pliable. Why, after years of trying to snap dry lasagne sheets to get them to fit the dish and breaking them into tiny pieces, did I not think of that?

MrsMills · 01/02/2007 12:18

We do something similar, but instead of using sheets of lasagne, we use wholemal tortilla wraps, saves 5 mins of soaking I suppose.

majorstress · 01/02/2007 14:16

Cool! now my kitchen floor won't have lasagne shrapnel in every corner with the dustballs.

majorstress · 01/02/2007 14:17

hey can you give the gist of the fish curry LL?

Thanks lisalisa - I made this last night and it was YUMMMMM!

Took me longer than 5 mins, as my "il cheapo" lasagne from the corner shop needed a longer soak and I had raw spinach so cooked it a bit first with some lime juice and nutmeg. But still only 20 mins and well worth it - me and DP wolfed it down, have yet to test it on DS but have saved him some for tonight.

Oh and I used a jar of ready-made basil & tomato pasta sauce which worked really well, though obv a bit more expensive...

Tatties · 02/02/2007 16:02

Made this last night, thank you lisalisa!

Will deffo be trying the fish curry, that sounds divine

majorstress · 02/02/2007 16:19

I am keen to get my kids to cook, but they just aren't very interested yet. Most of the cookbooks for kids have too many cakes and puds. Yes there is a time and a place for goodies, but what about everyday grub. I think the lisalisa lasagne (I know I know it's not lisalisa's nor is it really lasagne) is especially cool because no chopping or frying involved, nor handling raw meat, nor other things that aren't good for wee beginners. I can't think of anything I do that is on these lines, most cooking really is quite child-unfriendly.

divamumdiva · 02/02/2007 16:22

lisalisa, i made note, i must try ti with dd, she loves cheese not dh. will probably cook when dh is away. thnx
