dd's are pasta, pesto and peas, roast chicken and roast potatoes, and white fish poached in milk and a baked potato (both with broccoli).
funnily enough, the latter two were what my mum used to cook me when i was ill.

i'd be interested to know what everyone else's comfort foods are. cheers

i still get myself egg in a cup when i'm feeling yuck

Bozza · 21/01/2007 20:57

DD is pretty much:
pasta with carrots topped with grated cheese
ditto but substitute brocolli
ditto but substitute peas

DS is beans on toast or with a jacket potato

quadrophenia · 21/01/2007 21:00

you feed your kids when they are poorly
soup and sanwiches here, oh and cheese on toast, depends on the level of illness though, oh yeah and crumpets are a favourite. DD is ill I probably won't be feeding her tomorrow

shonaspurtle · 21/01/2007 22:04

Aitch & pink - I'm sure it was the cup (tho the butter probably helped .

Iriam · 21/01/2007 22:22

Baby T has egg-mashed-up-in-a-cup..this is buttered bread cut up into small squares and mixed up with a soft egg in a mug...is this a Scottish thing?!

AitchTwoOh · 21/01/2007 22:28

could be... although mine was simply soft egg in a cup with about a quarter of a pack of butter (well, maybe not that much) and toast soldiers. buttered, of course

wurlywurly · 22/01/2007 13:37

mash potato and fish fingers

wurlywurly · 22/01/2007 13:38

what is egg in a cup??

Skribble · 22/01/2007 13:55

Boiled egg in a mug with a big dollop of butter mashed up and eaten with toast soldiers. Easier for little ones and big pathetic ill ones (DH) to manage than a boiled egg in a shell.

wurlywurly · 22/01/2007 15:48

oooh my sort of boiled egg.

ledodgy · 22/01/2007 15:49

AitchTwoOh · 22/01/2007 16:00

Skribble · 22/01/2007 20:52

My kids like both red or green pesto.

One favourite is Chicken Pesto Pasta.

Stir fry chicken,
add some strips of pepper or whatever if I can be arsed.
Stir in couple big spoons pesto,
Mix through cooked pasta
Stir through as much cream as you feel you can get away with.

MMH!

MerryMarigold · 22/01/2007 20:59

I am surprised people can eat pesto and cream, eggs and butter, when they are ill. We used to have marmite on toast (about 2 bites) or plain toast, and ginger wine in hot water to make the sick taste nice!

franca70 · 22/01/2007 21:12

when dc are ill they always want rice cooked in chicken stock (made with chicken, carrot and onion). and camomile with lots of sugar.
When I was ill my mum used to make rice with potato and parsley.
when I'm feeling low, I usually have eggs and bacon

Skribble · 22/01/2007 23:22

Sorry pesto pasta is not an ill dish, chicken soup or egg in a cup mostly
