Seriously , there is a Gillian McPoo advert in my avocadoes. Wtf? Is she actually taking over the world?

Oh, I love Happiness, I think it's just about the best film ever. So very very good guess indeed!

I even fancied him in Happiness .

I must see him in the oh, damn, small gay southern writer, you know, In Cold Blood, that one ... him. The film.

Capote.

I think I am tired.

I think I have seen it post kids. I could probably still cope with it.

It's such a strange film, so horrific and so tender. I loved Welcome to the Dollhouse, too, but Storytelling was blah, and Palindromes didn't tempt.

Welcome to the Dollhouse isn't as good, but is still quite excellent. More centred on a child, really brought back strong memories of being a kid.

I only vaguely remember Storytelling, wasn't there a creative writing class in it? It just didn't draw me in, I don't think.

Hard to say. I don't have the patience to sit still for that long, generally. Oh, I could stand Brokeback Mountain, but what's not to like about hot gay cowboy sex. (The knitting was poor, though.)

Me too, but then I had a whole death thing going on this year, making any book or movie with death in it (i.e. pretty much any movie) a weepfest. I cried at fucking Barnyard, I shit you not.

The little redhead wife knitted. Badly. And they were all wearing strange 70s knitwear, some of which was interesting-looking.

Not as interesting as the sex, though.

Hmm, I'm normally a bit weepy at films, but to find myself weeping copiously while being absolutely furious at being manipulated into weeping ... ugh.

Actually, I have a secret penchant for Weepies. "Hope Floats" is one of my favourites, despite my conviction that the next bit of the title should be "So Does Poo".

I really am going to have to sleep. If I'm resorting to Canadianisms like "I shit you not", I am too tired to live.
