fuzzywuzzy · 11/11/2006 17:52

that is probably be what I will have for an evening meal, (only one mug of soup though).

Twiglett · 11/11/2006 17:53

cup a soup ... yuk

still if you like it why not?

Queenmummy · 11/11/2006 17:53

Sounds a bit boring

FrannyandZooey · 11/11/2006 17:54

Greeny are you dieting????

I am watching you....

That is a shit meal, it has not enough protein and fat in it

moondog · 11/11/2006 17:54

oh sorry-its cup a soup
nah that is satan's sputum

Queenmummy · 11/11/2006 17:54

you are right f&z

and cup a soup ghastly stuff

unknownrebelbang · 11/11/2006 17:57

Sod the content, why are you asking?

Greensleeves · 11/11/2006 17:57

cos I am trying to compile a little mental list of things which I can eat in the evening which will satisfy my huner without making me into a fat jabber and I am addicted to bread, so i tend to eat too much of it.

EAT RYVITA OR PUMPERNICKEL INSTEAD.
I AM A BREAD FIEND too but cutting back got me bact to pre baby weight.

Greensleeves · 11/11/2006 18:00

I do love pumpernickel actually. Can I make it myself? Or do I have to buy it in bulk?

OP posts:
moondog · 11/11/2006 18:00

just buy

Greensleeves · 11/11/2006 18:03

I didn't realise pumpernickel was less calorific than normal bread...this may be a significant discovery!

DratherBdiggin · 11/11/2006 18:04

Lidl do reasonably priced pumpernickel!

DratherBdiggin · 11/11/2006 18:05

Why did no one answer my other carrot cake thread, I put a really good recipe on it

moondog · 11/11/2006 18:06

I thought this GI stuff was a load of bollocks but it isn't.
Once you avoid bread and pasta (not always, just for most of the week) and substitute with wholegrains and stuff like Ryvita and pumpernickel, you really do keep hunger pangs under control.

I am a big fan of miso soup too-the instant variety.

Popcorn good to nibble.

Also soybeans which they now sell frozen.Defrost and eat raw. Lovely.

moondog · 11/11/2006 18:06

Where DB??
I stay away from cakes.
Tis a choice between cake and tight trousers.

Greensleeves · 11/11/2006 18:08

Cheers moondog, useful titbits there - I do like Ryvita as well as pumpernickel, so it could be quite workable to replace bread

Have been meaning to try the frozen soya beans though, they do intrigue me

Greensleeves · 11/11/2006 18:09

DratherBDiggin is a superlative posting name though

My dinner is often soup, four Ryvita with cheese and toms and pickle and then lots of fruit afterwards.

Mercy · 11/11/2006 18:09

Sorry Greensleeves, but it's a joke (the cupasoup bit that is)

You are a good cook from what I've seen, so why not make a decent soup - how about a minestrone or pasta and bean one, or a lentil one. ANd for me that would be lunch not dinner.

I like that miso soup too, Moondog

moondog · 11/11/2006 18:11

I also buy lots of instant noodles (the good kind!) from Asian supermarket.
Bulked out with some veg (usually half a shredded flat leaf lettuce in my case) and some tofu or other protein, they come in at about 600 calories and reaLLY DO FILL AND WARM YOU UP.

mousiemousie · 11/11/2006 18:12

cupasoup is puke priced up
