Good thread Lisalisa, thanks, and great ideas too. Might try some of these. I agree with you about something tempting for lunch helping them at school.

Dd nearly had soup last winter (she loves soup) but I was worried it might get spilled. No-one else seemed to be taking in anything other than sandwiches.

oxocube · 26/10/2006 13:03

Do Lakeland do cheaper ones? I have 3 kids so they would work out pricey, although a great idea. I often give my dd homemade veggie soup in an ordinary flask during the winter and she loves it

TinyGang · 26/10/2006 18:51

Have a look in Asda Oxo - I think they do something a bit similar. I know what you mean - I've got x three too.

TheDaVinciCod · 26/10/2006 18:55

these?

do they keep warm?

TheDaVinciCod · 26/10/2006 18:56

TheDaVinciCod · 26/10/2006 18:57

TheDaVinciCod · 26/10/2006 19:02

and these ok wo whats going on

Spidermama · 26/10/2006 19:06

I would like to add to the praise being heaped on lisalisa for this idea. I will certainly be investing in these. My dd has just told me some of her friends have them.

I think it's a great idea to have a warm part in a packed lunch - a nice reminder of home - especially in the winter.

I agreed about sandwiches getting boring every day.

Spidermama · 26/10/2006 19:12

The JoJo ones are nice. Bit pricey for my four, but I be those cheap ones don't keep stuff hot.

SSSandy · 26/10/2006 19:12

I'm going to look for these. Not sure they're available here though. Think it's a brilliant idea.

But WO-OAHH Lisa! You make me feel SO inadequate. You're working full-time as a partner in a law firm and getting up to cook (IN THE MORNING) to fill those snack jars!

I'm a SAHM and I couldn't imagine cooking a warm meal in the morning. I get up at 6 as it is and just manage to spread to sandwiches and chop up some fruit.

SSSandy · 26/10/2006 19:14

that's TWO

popsycal · 26/10/2006 19:23

SamhainWitch · 26/10/2006 19:55

Possibly for really little kids.

Our school doesn't allow them unfortunately, but we use them for hot meals on long journeys. My kids (9 & 5) love them.

popsycal · 26/10/2006 19:57

just ordered one from gltc

Skribble · 26/10/2006 19:57

OOh I like that woolies one for myself, long shifts out in the cold so big chunky soap sounds great,
