Is it for chewing practice or wot?
There are bugger all calories or goodness in them.

The choc coated ones are good

Gloworm · 22/04/2006 18:50

moondog, wholegrain brown rice is a fantastic source of b-vitamins.
i wasn't refering to the ones made with white rice(ie, the vast majority of brands)

bourneville · 22/04/2006 18:53

I really like the Kallo organic wholegrain brown rice cakes with sesame, & so does dd, we eat them with peanut butter or marmite or honey! seriously, yum!

Mercy · 22/04/2006 19:02

TheBlonde, what does your dentist say about the chocolate covered ones then Wink

poppiesinaline · 22/04/2006 19:04

another vote for the apple ones. I probably eat more of them out of the packet than DS2 Blush. In fact, DS1, DD and myself all squabble over them and poor DS2 gets shoved the scraps at the bottom of the packet so have stopped buying them cos it was costing me a fortune! Grin

moondog · 22/04/2006 19:04

Glo,was being flippant. Smile
Am a big brown rice fan-steamed that is.
I live on it.

and we like rotten teeth Wink

lunavix · 22/04/2006 19:07

my friend feeds her kids the chocolate ones - snackajacks? are they rice cakes?

I don't see the point, personally.

Greensleeves · 22/04/2006 19:09

I give my kids rice cakes, partly because they like them and ask for them (the plain brown rice ones with ham/cream cheese/peanut butter etc), partly because I eat them, and partly because it's better than giving them biscuits or chocolate buttons (although I am not completely joyless and do allow the occasional lapse)Grin

Blush moondog...i did wonder!!!

had some really crappy customers in my shop (a health shop BTW Wink ) near closing time so i'm a bit wound up....have just opened a bottle of wine so i'll be ok in a minute Grin

moondog · 22/04/2006 19:31

Oh Gloworm,am sure your shop is lovely (and soory about your experiences with horrid customers.)
I tell you,my family alone keeps our local health food sop afloat!

the apple ones smell like runny bottoms

Greensleeves · 23/04/2006 17:58

Nice, Enid Grin "runny bottoms"

Are you still lugging that baby around? Are you sure you're really pregnant?GrinGrin

niceglasses · 23/04/2006 18:00

Think its cos they smell farty.

Enid · 23/04/2006 18:00

its not due till next Sunday

I soooooooooooo want it out though

GDG · 23/04/2006 18:01

The organix apple ones are quite nice - i eat those when the kids do. I'm not expecting their teeth to fall out, they don't eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner and every snack in between. I'm pretty sure they aren't going to cause any lasting damage and therefore I won't be losing any sleep over it.

nooka · 23/04/2006 18:36

I always thought ricecakes were horrible, but ds and dd really like them, and when they are fresh they are actually quite nice. When stale they are quite nasty though. I haven't tried the wholemeal ones, I will look out for them. I wouldn't give me children something I thought was horrible, but there are plenty of things they like that I don't (and vice versa)

wilbur · 23/04/2006 19:00

Ds2 (nearly 9 months) can't have any dairy and up until a couple of weeks ago he couldn't have wheat either. Poor deprived baby. An apple rice cake was the closest I could get to a biscuit.

panicpants · 23/04/2006 19:03

ds sat peacefully eating (well sucking) an orange rice cake now so we can watch emmerdale :o

motherinferior · 23/04/2006 19:13

For some reason the Kallo ones with marmite on them are a big favourite with everyone in the Inferiority Complex. And most of the time we eat quite nice food, honest.

alex8 · 23/04/2006 19:31

to shut him up!

7up · 23/04/2006 20:03

marmite ones are lovely, could easily eat a whole bag before my ds gets a look in

threelittlebabies · 23/04/2006 20:22

I would say for finger food and chewing practice, and they are the right size for her to grab easily. Only buy the plain ones though.

booge · 23/04/2006 21:09

DS never gets a look in as I've always eaten them.

FrayedKnot · 23/04/2006 21:13

The dark chocolate coated Kallo ones are good for when you are dieting and pretending not to eat chocolate biscuits.
