Love, love, love Wagamama. Hopefully will take ds and dd there either tonight or tomorrow pre cinema. Really hope they like the food. They're used to noodles at home (one recipe) so I'm pretty sure they'll enjoy it.
Wagamama is always my treat when in London. Am going to have Chicken Tama Rice unless you have any recommendations??

Ooh, I've never been, but have always wanted to. Live near Norwich so might just wander in at some point...hmmm noodles...

Fimbo · 10/04/2006 14:01

About time too! Dh & I were wondering if it was ever going to open. Dh is on holiday from tonight, so we will just have to try it at some point this week. Tootsie's was disappointing but then I am not keen on the Bluewater one. Loving Nando's on Red Lion Street and curious about MacKintosh's Canteen.

Fimbo · 10/04/2006 14:01

Where do you live Kleggie?

Hope they do the children's menu in your branch...ds always has chicken yakitori with a side order of prawn dumplings while dd, only two, can scoff almost all of the chicken noodles dish on the children's menu.
I had an ebi chili men last weekend that nearly blew my head off Grin sure the chef in the Festival Hall branch chucked in double the usual amount of chili...
Enjoy, cupcakes :)

yaki udon

every time

cupcakes · 10/04/2006 14:05

Tootsies looked quite expensive for burgers so haven't been there yet. (dh likes Captain America but although the food is nice I hate being surrounded by smokers)

Am curious about MC too. Haven't been anywhere new for ages. Is Nando's new or am I out ot touch?

I peeked in the window of Wagamama last week and they had a stack of what looked like children's drawing pads called noodle doodles so hopefully they will do children's menus.

Ohh look forward to your review Cupcakes.

Won't be home in Norwich until the summer now - may have to try it then!

newkid · 10/04/2006 14:08

Our town felt v sophisticated when our Wagamamas opened a few months ago. That AND and IKEA - it was almost too much.

Amai udon - almost always have it, never disappointed. DD (almost 2) loves the mini chicken katsu and the edamame!

Fimbo · 10/04/2006 14:11

My dh will not go to Capt America's for that very reason. Tootsie's is very expensive for what you get and it wasn't that nice. My dd only had about 2 mouthfuls of her spaghetti because it was covered in sauce - they couldn't do it plain (alarm bells did ring then - as the dish was supposed to be "organic"), she was then given a dish of ice-cream and they brought round hundreds and thousands to be sprinkled on. Nando's has probably been open for about 18mths. I think it was a Halifax B/s branch before.

ProfYaffle · 10/04/2006 14:15

Ooh, might have to try it as an alternative to our usual Pasta Italia or Wafflehouse. Do they have a reasonable veggie selection?

There's a Norwich meet up in the offing btw ...

fuzzywuzzy · 10/04/2006 14:16

Marina I think the ebi chilli men is just incredibly hot, I'm used to fairly spicy food, but that dish brings tears to my eyes too....

Fimbo · 10/04/2006 14:17

I'm scared of meet-ups! Also my dd is at school and I don't drive which makes things a bit harder for ds and me!

ProfYaffle · 10/04/2006 14:22

Don't be scared! No-one knows each other (afaik) so we'll all be quaking together. If you change your mind have a look in the meetups section, someone might be able to give you a lift.

Fimbo · 10/04/2006 14:22

I've seen it! >

ProfYaffle · 10/04/2006 14:24
Shock
tootsweet · 10/04/2006 14:48

I've never been to wagamama before so I think I'll treat myself on thursday when I am pampering myself with a new hair do and some new clothes!
Fimbo I'd offer a lift but I have huge car seats and can only get one other person in!

Enid · 10/04/2006 14:49

mini ramen x 2 for my two

plus those green bean thinsg

Fimbo · 10/04/2006 14:53

Thanks TS but I have to pluck up the courage first!

tootsweet · 10/04/2006 15:01

As PY said we'll all be quaking! My mum lives in Hethersett so if you fancy a meet up in the park or a well known place one day I'm always up for it.

KTeePee · 10/04/2006 15:03

Wagamama is fab with kids. We went there on Mothers Day - were in and out in just over half an hour (just what we needed with a 2 yr old who can barely sit still long enough to finish a meal). The food is great - ALL our kids like it - and it's pretty rare for them all to like the same thing.

Cool, I live in London now, but my family live in Norwich, so will make a trip to wagamama with dh and dd when I go home! Personally I could die for their dumplings and chicken soup (sorry can't remember the Japanese :)
