secur · 05/04/2006 10:22

on site but worry occasionally about how much is bought pre-prepared from Sainsburys!

prepared on site - fab menu too, big part of reason we chose that particular nursery. Have read your other thread too CD, i would also be v upset, good luck

chjlly · 05/04/2006 11:02

On site but their old nursery had it brought in by a company that did food for schools and it would be nutricious to their age range so ds would often have something different to dd

Bugsy2 · 05/04/2006 11:03

on site, all freshly cooked. Often smells of lunchtime cooking at 9.30am if I do a late drop off, so I guess they must re-heat the food to give it to the children at 12.30. Unless it is bubbling away in the cauldrons for 3 hours!!
Sorry to hear about your current dilema CD. Seems a shame to drive food from Guildford to London when they could prepare it on site.

hulababy · 05/04/2006 11:05

It is brought in from the university next door. It is cooked fresh that morning though and brought over only just before lunch time. It seems to be pretty good and varied. They have a 3 week menu which is displayed in the nursery entrance. DD eats lots of it so it must be good!

Asquith Nursery - prepared on site

Blu · 05/04/2006 11:25

At the nursery DS has recently left, it was cooked on site. And good, too.

Bozza · 05/04/2006 11:26

On-site.

anchovies · 05/04/2006 11:28

On site - excellent quality too.

Feistybird · 05/04/2006 11:30

on site (prev nursery used to prepare at one buidling and transport to another, but both buildings 5 mins drive away from eachother along quiet country roads)

Lemoncello · 06/08/2007 19:35

Organix and the soil association are running Nursery food awards, If your child's nursery is providing good food get them to enter, you just need to go to:www.organix.com/Content/Nursery-Food-Awards

On site. The food was a really important thing for me. DS eats so well at home, I didn't want everything going awry at nursery! V good selection, lots of fruit, veg etc...

BettySpaghetti · 06/08/2007 19:41

on-site (local produce as much as possible and organic fruit, veg and meat)

bran · 06/08/2007 19:42

On site at ds's nursery. The cook used to be a very jolly woman, but she left to go back to Africa and was replaced by a handsome male cook who is much quieter but apparently a better cook as all the children eat everything put in front of them. DS often has seconds too.

Lovecat · 06/08/2007 20:01

We were told it was done on-site when we were shown around, but further questioning at a later date when trying to find out if various items contained gluten or not was met with a blank look and a 'we'd have to read what the packet said' - so no, it's reheated on site, from the sounds of things

Katymac · 06/08/2007 20:05

Umm I know it doesn't exist yet - but surely you have seen my agonising about the size of the kitchen/equipment I need etc.

Mind you I will cook/chill a serving dish each day to take home to childminding for the next meal

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 06/08/2007 20:06

All cooked on site. All organic as well.

lemonaid · 06/08/2007 20:07
