I would but font have one nearby and am struggling without transport here. Just looked on Amazon. Might be able to get a used copy.

I'm hungry now!

NettoSuperstar · 21/07/2012 17:39

It's very dear on Amazon, I'm sure I got it new for £8 with free delivery.
I have a spare copy if you'd like it, a gift, not selling it to you!
PM me your address and I'll pop it in the post.
(bought it for a friend and for one reason or another, won't be able to give it to her anytime soon)
I'm not a weirdo, honest, feel free to search my postsGrin

GaryTankCommander · 21/07/2012 17:58

I second the veggie pasties... Yum!

Olympia2012 · 21/07/2012 18:01

netto that's incredibly kind but are you sure? Amazon is usually the place to go for cheaper books, I'm surprised they aren't any cheaper.

NettoSuperstar · 21/07/2012 18:06

I'm sure.
I'll happily send it to you.
It's sitting here unused and I will buy another copy for my friend when I'm able to give it to her.

Allalonenow · 21/07/2012 18:07

Olympia ~ The Book People have this for £9:99, cheaper than Amazon. Or if you collect Nectar points go to "spend points" and get it via Speddy Hen, no extra delivery charge and very quick service.

It is a super book!!

slartybartfast · 21/07/2012 18:08

ooh, iwant that book

Allalonenow · 21/07/2012 18:10

Oh! Just seen Netto's post so problem solved.
What a lovely gesture Thanks

Olympia2012 · 21/07/2012 18:14

That is a lovely gesture. Really love mumsnet sometimes! I fell out of love with it recently, but then some threads make you Smile again. I have a veg garden on the go so this thread sprang up at the right time.

Will pm you netto

NettoSuperstar · 21/07/2012 18:29

Off to make our dinner now (smoked cheese risotto, and pizza hut cookie dough dessert), but will get back to you.
Sometimes it's nice to be nice, and I've had lots of support on here over the years.

economymode · 22/07/2012 20:15

Another fan here - I really like the flatbreads made using his magic bread recipe, and the tomato & mozarella risotto is easy peasy and really nice.

It's currently £10.99 on Sainsbury's Entertainment if you do fancy buying it.

shoppingbagsundereyes · 22/07/2012 20:55

Chachouka is delish but the recipe only serves two in this house. Soups all great. The pepper feta new pot thing really tasty. We had the pasta with raw tomatoes this eve. Yum

goodlifemummy · 22/07/2012 21:41

Netto you are a lovely person Smile

pregnantpause · 23/07/2012 08:29

The merguez chips- my god they are wonderful. And the squash recipe with flatbreads. The Mexican tomato soup is delicious. Chachouka serves 2 not four but its lovely. The pasties as others have said are wonderful.

I'm surprised at the recommendations for the vegeree tho- I wasn't that impressed tbh and felt it needed fish. Also not a huge fan of the spouffle- needs A LOT of seasoning to be tasty.

I love this book its one of my desert island cookbooks

ppeatfruit · 23/07/2012 11:16

I love it too. It's interesting 'cos i was helping a French would be veg. 16 yr old with her english and she used it to translate from; she really liked it too (she has to persuade her parents to 'allow' her to go veggie). The french think that you die if you don't eat meat!! Grin

seabuckthorn · 23/07/2012 19:08

The beetroot tarte tatin is lovely, the vinegarette is well worth making by the way.
Hurray for this thread, I needed people to tell me what to cook from the book, I end up just looking at the pictures!
I'm glad the chickpea ketchup curry went down well, I quite fancy that.

ILoveStripeySocks · 24/07/2012 17:06

I have made the chickpea & ketchup curry, macaroni peas, aubergene parmiagana, honey roasted tomatoes, marinated cucumber and marinted courgettes, loved them all! I have pics on my blog.

ThursdayNextIsMyHero · 24/07/2012 19:47

Just had warm mushroom and squash salad for dinner, yum. Have had one failure though, the three veg boulangere (have probably got that name wrong). Followed the recipe, but the veg wasn't cooked, even when the cooking time was massively increased. I do like the book though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/07/2012 19:48

Dp did the three vege thing form a magazine before the book came out and it didn't work - far too much liquid.

thebestisyettocome · 24/07/2012 19:54

Netto, that's a really nice thing for you to have done. This is a great book and Olympia will love it Smile

Everything I've made from this has been a big success. We love the artichoke and bean salad although I often substitute asparagus for artichoke and it's just as nice.

thebestisyettocome · 24/07/2012 19:54

Oh, and the butternut squash filled with creme frais and leeks is exceptionally good too.

ppeatfruit · 25/07/2012 09:21

I'm going to try the bettroot tarte tatin when my mum comes to stay and DH goes away for work (he has a traumatic aversion to beetroot!! Grin).

ppeatfruit · 25/07/2012 09:22

Not bettroot! beetroot of course.

NettoSuperstar · 25/07/2012 09:24

I was going to do the creamy mushroom soup and spinach and ricotta pasties last night, but ended up phoning takeaway instead!
Would love to try the beetroot tarte tatin but will have to wait till DD is away with school next month as she hates beetroot.
Have just addressed parcel for book, so will be popped in the post today.
