hmmmm, yes I've never liked goose, didn't want to say anything in advance though...

we had a superb organic turkey from a local farm (expertly cooked in an aga by cousin's brother) and it was FANTASTIC. smug, smug

I love cold goose, but I am not at all keen on it hot - I think it does have that rather greasy, oily taste when it is hot, that it loses when it is cold.

We had organic turkey amd a huge rib of beef. Twas all very yummy And lots of lovely left overs, although Dsises went home with food parcels which helped clear out some of the remains

Heathcliffscathy · 26/12/2005 23:34

goose delicious i think but not really worth effort. would work much better in a (self cleaning....god i miss my) aga than conventional oven...

moondog · 26/12/2005 23:36

Thanks PPH.No rush,know you're a busy woman.

Did ham and beef too which are nice, and am doing some South East Asian stuff tomorrow for friends.
I miss my Aga,which I said goodbye to when we moved. Now have shit electric job-looks flash but is useless.

this busy woman has been lying in until half 9 every day, then having two naps a day, has barely moved for 3 days except to haul herself to the chocolate box, and consequently is WIDE awake at almost midnight.

I can't believe I have another 4 or 5 weeks of being pregnant, I can't STAND IT ANY MORE GRRRRRRRRRRR

sorry just needed to get that off my chest

moondog · 26/12/2005 23:42

Oh well,Ive got a duff leg, bandaged to the thigh, can barely move and have severe cabin fever.

I'llbe entertaining in my pyjamas tomorrow night-good job they're very old friends....

Heathcliffscathy · 26/12/2005 23:43

ahhh but pph, you'll have a darling aquarian baby at the end of it all

MrsSpoon · 26/12/2005 23:43

Sorry but LOL!

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 26/12/2005 23:44

what's wrong with your leg? have I missed something? sounds horrible....

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 26/12/2005 23:45

are they nice? aquarius I mean? I don't know any aquariuses and have no friends who are aquariuses, they are an Unknown Quantity. And probably hate Taureans (moi)

moondog · 26/12/2005 23:47

I had a veritable spider's web of varicose veins removed this week. (Glamorous? Moi? Mai oui!!)

The 24 hours of utter peace in a hospital bed were pretty nice though.

OP posts:
merrySOAPBOXingday · 26/12/2005 23:49

Really thick question alert What happens once the veins have been removed, how does the blood go, where the blood used to go before????

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 26/12/2005 23:50

eueugughghghghghghghrhrhrhrhrhgrhrggh

sorry I meant to say "really? oh well, better out than in, get well soon"

moondog · 26/12/2005 23:50

That's what I thought (especially as this is the second time around!)
Consultant told me those veins carry hardly anything.

OP posts:
MrsSpoon · 26/12/2005 23:50

BTW sorry to hear about the leg, it was the goose I was LOL at.

merrySOAPBOXingday · 26/12/2005 23:51

How do they get so big then????

moondog · 26/12/2005 23:51

Big cut in groin and loads of little ones all down my leg.
If that doesn't put people off their turkey crown, then frankly what will????

OP posts:
moondog · 26/12/2005 23:51

Dunno.
Duff leg as I said.

OP posts:
MrsSpoon · 26/12/2005 23:53

Maybe that's the appeal of the turkey crown, you don't know whether it had varicose veins or not?

merrySOAPBOXingday · 26/12/2005 23:54

Sounds grim!!!

Forgive me, but the image of you entertaining, with what will undoubtably be lovely exquisite food, in your jammies, is a very funny image

moondog · 26/12/2005 23:55

lol re thought of turkey with Stilton legs.

Pah,plenty of Champagne in the fridge-who cares about the clothes.
I may dazzle them with my favourite winceyette heart covered one-£4 from Ethel Austin.

OP posts:
PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 26/12/2005 23:55

I'm sure your jammies are exquisite too. I've just watched Working Girl again - will you be wearing the sort of stuff that sigourney weaver lolled around on her bed in while making eyes at Harrison Ford? She was recovering from a broken leg not a varicose vein operation, but the same principle I think...

moondog · 26/12/2005 23:57

Are you familiar with the haute couture that is EA???
