Are you talking salmon steaks? I wrap mine in foil parcel and bake with lemon or pesto or even curry paste which is DIVINE

LadyBiscuit · 21/02/2011 18:18

I do olive oil, lemon juice and grated ginger :)

Vajazzler · 21/02/2011 18:19

Do you have a butter substitute you can put on?
I put little bits of butter and some chopped dill on mine, wrap in foil and bake.

princessProudmel · 21/02/2011 18:19

Sounds lovely but Parmesan in pesto :(
Curry paste sounds good .

Salmon doesn't need anything on it - it's so fatty already. Just blast it in a very hot oven, on a pre-heated dish, for a few minutes, and sprinkle with rock salt. Squeeze lemon over.

I was just looking for ideas Bonsoir :)

My diet is quite bland at the moment due to the no dairy/soya .

Not all together obviously.

Lime, zest and juice and ginger, plus some brown sugar and coriander. Delish!

Balsamic glaze on salmon is tasty.

OgreTripletsAreSoCute · 21/02/2011 18:29

Lots of chopped dill or tarragon, mixed with lemon juice, bit of salt and pepper, rub it on the surface before cooking.

ivykaty44 · 21/02/2011 18:29

make your own pesto - oil, basil and pine nuts crushed

weblette · 21/02/2011 18:29

Freshly coarse ground pepper and sea salt, whack temp up high to get a crust, serve with roasted baby plum tomatoes mashed and mixed with basil stirred into pasta.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 21/02/2011 18:29

I do mine with some lemon or lime juice squeezed over, and sometimes a little chopped ginger.
Keeps it very moist if you wrap in foil - and then I open the foil just for 4/5 minutes at the end of cooking.

spanky2 · 21/02/2011 18:32

I do mine with a slice of lemon, a bay leaf and a generous slosh of wine. Wrap in foil and bake. I also like blackened salmon.

TapselteerieO · 21/02/2011 18:33

I tried it with cous cous, lemon, cherry toms, made into little parcels using baking parchment - there might have been some spring onion or roasted veg with it - I can't remember where I saw the recipe, may have been good food. It was delicious and you could vary the ingredients...

TapselteerieO · 21/02/2011 18:39

salmon with cous cous

piecenjam · 21/02/2011 18:44

Cajun spices too. Yummyx

OgreTripletsAreSoCute · 21/02/2011 18:45

Or cold with some cold fine rice noodles, crunchy salad (slivers of carrot, spring onion, iceberg lettuce) and satay sauce (peanut butter mixed with sweet chilli sauce and hot water to get taste/texture, I also add soy sauce which you could replace with a bit of Thai fish sauce). Can dig out the quantities if you need them.

This is also delicious with cold turkey or chicken

piecenjam · 21/02/2011 18:46

...Yummy wrapped in foil with some olive oil rubbed in and spice on top. Baked for 20ish mins.
