canyou · 08/11/2010 17:34

LadyWellian · 08/11/2010 17:36

Banana cake always goes down well, and if you do it in a loaf tin it is easier to stretch round lots of people than a round cake. Delia has a good recipe (I always leave out the walnuts).

traceybath · 08/11/2010 17:38

I did the nigella one from her christmas book that you cook in the 'fancy tin' - tasted delicious - vanilla and cinammon and looked amazing and tasted even better today.

Will find recipe if you're interested.

brimfull · 08/11/2010 17:38

Pistachio cake from River Cafe cookbook takes some beating, IMO. Can do in loaf tin for easy transporting.

Carrot cake done as traybake with a lime/mascarpone icing.
