Anyone else seen it? Great acting, even from the woman who cannot really act.

Beetroot, where did CO say he want to shed those nasty gnashers? Did he say it in public? I thought he looked totally bizarre on Jonathan Ross.

I think its because she didn't want to live in JL's messy flat

where are you Davros? Maybe I should come with you to ask my darling Clive about his teeth??????????

Davros · 13/02/2005 18:35

The special showing is at The Screen on the Hill in Belsize Park (NW3). Maybe we should just stand outside screaming when we see CO (not JL). CO looked lovely on Baftas last night, despite teeth.

Tortington · 13/02/2005 18:40

sorry cam !! but i found this movie the most dull thing i have watched since the incredibles.

Cam · 15/02/2005 15:10

Wot? Not even the teeth make you laugh?

Socci, re your comment about JR and JO - that didn't happen in the play, I found it really annoying that they changed that bit. In the play it all makes alot more sense. Beetroot, I performed it 'up north' - I spotted quite alot of differences - namely the end - and boy, they were two BIG differences, and all the Postman's Park bit, also the scar shaped liked a question mark, the scene between Anna and Alice, etc etc. That was my favourite scene too! I wish they could have left it as Marber wrote it.

Cam · 17/02/2005 15:55

What is the real ending Dahlia? I must admit the ending of the film version leaves you thinking "that wouldn't happen in real life"

SPOILER

Well, in the play, there is a lot more depth to Alice's character and her past, which makes it all the more poignant at the end when she dies. The other three characters meet up in Postmans Park and it becomes clear that Larry has met someone else and Anna is on her own. Dan too is on his own, and is distraught that Alice is dead. Its all very sad, and kind of inevitable.

spacedonkey · 20/02/2005 18:46

Saw this today and thought it was a load of old toss. Not one of the characters was remotely sympathetic. And Natalie Portman just looks too good in that g string

Yeah beetroot, play is soooo much better than the film Perhaps if they had had someone like Juliet Stevenson to play Anna, that might have helped.
