Anyone seen this yet?
I didn’t have a clue what was going on! Certainly not a child friendly film… doubt they’d have a clue either. There were some funny moments though Smile

If your 10 and unders want a fun jungle film, watch the Dora the Explorer one.

Just enough peril and main characters are kids.

Meredusoleil · 05/08/2021 22:24

We watched it today with our 12 and 9 year olds. Tbh I think it should be rated a firm 12 ie not suitable for under that age, even with parental permission as it was quite scary and violent in places!

Both dh and I said it was very Indiana Jones style except with a female lead!

Agree with pp about the film Dora and the lost city. Much better for kids that age imho!

Themeparklover · 06/08/2021 02:49

@meredusoleil yes I agree, I warned my parents it was a combination of pirates and the mummy and said it should probably be rated 12+ but still great, she sent my 3 sisters to see it together 16,15 and 11

Moonlaserbearwolf · 06/08/2021 03:24

My 7 and 10 yr old loved it. I enjoyed it too, though it was not particularly original and the script felt like it could have easily been written 30 years ago. Plot slightly convoluted in places, but good, clean Disney fun.

Watched it with DS8 at the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Peril, Adventure, Funny and The Rock helped too. We really got into it and it was a lovely to share watching something together instead of bloody YouTube crap. Hope they make a sequel.

I agree and now I have a slightly embarrassing crush on the rock Blush

@LysistrataVickers, there’s both embarrassing about a wee crush on your msn Dwayne. He’s adorable.

Fiddliestofsticks · 10/08/2021 18:59

I saw it with my 8 and 9 year olds. We really enjoyed it. Not the bar adventure movie but it was fun and the peril was quite real for the main characters, which my kids found exciting.

@LysistrataVickers

Me too! DS thinks it's funny. I would cruise into the jungle with him any day of the week.

I took my children. Younger is 10 and they enjoyed it. Reminds me of Indiana Jones stories

onemouseplace · 10/08/2021 19:37

I saw it with my 6, 10 and 12 year olds and they all really enjoyed it. I can see why it's a 12A - my 6 year old was fine with it (she's not exactly a sensitive soul and as the youngest of 3 has watched many a movie that's probably not entirely suitable for her) but I liked to have the choice, rather than just blanketing it a 12.

LysistrataVickers · 10/08/2021 19:45

@Miniestelle Grin me too!

Exactly what I said. Like Indiana Jones but with a female lead 😉
superoz · 10/08/2021 21:00

The first half was literally Indiana Jones with a female lead which was quite enjoyable. Then mid way it started to go all over the place, story wise and tonally. The scoring was very overblown and parts were so cheesy and clichéd, my 13 year old lost interest in the end.
It looks like they tried to please everyone but it was just disappointing in the end, didn’t hate it but didn’t love it either.

I agree all quite light so 12A is fine. Unless very sensitive I cannot imagine children find it a problem.
RedHotChiliChips · 11/08/2021 16:58

We all loved it! It's fun light entertainment. Our DC are 10 and 13, the younger one was fine throughout.

FWIW, I want to runaway with The Rock Blush

Meltinthemiddle · 18/08/2021 20:51

Loved it
