So, the Duke of Hastings as James Bond? What do we reckon?

The hot money is now on Rege-Jean Page as the next Bond.

I love a game of fantasy casting, but RJP wouldn’t have occurred to me as fantasy casting spontaneously because I’ve never seen him in anything else so just think of him as “that bloke from Bridgerton”.

However now it’s been mentioned he’s actually the first person rumoured who genuinely seems like a perfect fit. Everyone else in the running has been too skinny, too short, too old, can’t play posh, too thespy, too famous, not British enough, or just not fanciable enough. I’m not an obsessive fan but he’s objectively very pretty indeed.

What does everyone else think? Finally the perfect solution? British, 31, tall, can play posh, fit as hell.

Pierce was my favourite Bond.

I saw a news item on FB saying Gemma Collins thinks she would be good as the next Bond. Poor Rene-Jean must be devasted. No way he’s getting it if the multi-talented GC has thrown her hat in the ring.

@evilharpy Oh nothing, just the acting in general and the "caricature" US-southern accent. It was a bit funny at first (when I couldn't figure out what his character was supposed to be) but mainly cringy. There were talks about it online.

I liked him in B'ton but I don't think he's old enough for Bond - I'm still holding out hope for Henry Cavill.

I liked him in Bridgerton but didn’t think he was a particularly good actor. Seemed a bit wooden.

Henry Cavill is very handsome but they won't cast a white Bond will they? I thought the broad consensus was that it's high time for a black Bond.

@AnotherEmma yes - and I agree it would be great to see an actor who wasn't white play Bond but I still think it's a shame for HC (yes I am a little bit in love with him!), he was in line for it last time but was apparently too young, I think he's about 40 now so that seems about right.
