Watching 'A knights tale' and instead of enjoying an old favourite I'm just thinking about how upsetting it is that Heath Ledger is dead.
Which beloved actors do you re-watch and end up feeling are now greatly missed?

Rik Mayall.

Is like my heart being ripped out each time.

That man was my teen years. He shaped me.

TalkFastThinkSlow · 24/03/2018 22:09

Alan Rickman. Absolute legend

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 24/03/2018 22:10

I’ve just watched Mrs Doubtfire Sad

Alabama3 · 24/03/2018 22:14

i think the younger ones are harder to take than the older ones, at least Alan Rickman was a decent age, but Heath Ledger - i think he just got better and better and then gone, poof... just like that

Dizzybintess · 24/03/2018 22:15

Clueless hard to believe Brittany Murphy died

BiologyMatters · 24/03/2018 22:18

Heath ledger too. He was on the cusp of really showing everyone what he was about and then he was gone. His performance of the joker was just amazing. Still got a soft spot for 10 things i hate about you too.

DinahMo · 24/03/2018 22:18

Brittany Murphy. ‘Clueless’ and ‘Girl, Interrupted’ are two of my favourite movies from my teens.

BusySittingDown · 24/03/2018 22:20

Anything with Robin Williams in. Loved him Sad.

I felt really sad at Christmas watching Miracle On 34th Street with Richard Attenborough. He was a good age but it’s still so sad.

HandbagCrazy · 24/03/2018 22:46

Alan Rickman - watching Snapes final scene was awful after he died.

Also, Brandon Lee. I loved The Crow as a teenager and rewatched it not too long ago. Like Heath Ledger he had done a few things and I think he was on the cusp of showing how good he could be, and we didn't really see it as he was gone before the film was finished.

Robin Williams makes me sad when I watch his films now, to think how much effort he put in to make people smile while he was so sad inside.

Vitalogy · 25/03/2018 10:43

Robin Williams, saw Good Will Hunting again recently.

Situp · 25/03/2018 10:46

Carrie Fisher.
She was such a strong person on and off screen

ShowOfHands · 25/03/2018 10:51

Heath.

Victoria Wood too. I find it incomprehensible that's she will never write or perform again.

iklboo · 25/03/2018 10:54

DS has been watching the dinnerladies repeats with me. He was gutted to find out Victoria Wood has died. She was an amazing talent and so funny.

MarthasGinYard · 25/03/2018 10:56

Miss Robin Williams

Jon Candy

greathat · 25/03/2018 10:58

Alan rickman :(

cindersrella · 25/03/2018 11:00

Dirty dancing.... I am Truely still devastated that Patrick swayze has died.

I loved him when I was younger (I'm only 32 now) and I literally still feel I love him now... it's weird as obviously I have never met him but feel I grieved for him

southeastdweller · 25/03/2018 11:00

Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Moominfan · 25/03/2018 11:02

Anything with robin Williams always makes me cry. Crazy never met the guy but my feelings are sincere

thesunwillout · 25/03/2018 11:17

TheQueenOfWands

Same here. I'm local to where his family countryside home is. It's odd that the great wit and master comic of my teens, was happy here.

ButtMuncher · 25/03/2018 11:21

Carrie Fisher really gets me. I cried when I saw the Last Jedi not because of the film but because I knew this was her last swan song.

Heath Ledger gets me too - was so sudden and so accidental and he was such a professional he just wanted to push through it all.

headinhands · 25/03/2018 11:45

Another one for John Candy. Such incredible talent. Wish we had more films.

youvegottobekidding · 07/04/2018 14:01

Paul Walker, just such a shame & how ironic how he died in a car when he was in the Fast & Furious movies. You can tell when his brother takes over in Fast & Furious 7 & the scene at the end, its like they are saying goodbye 😕

Robin Williams too, watched Flubber the other week & loved watching Mork & Mindy back in the day 😁

LAlady · 07/04/2018 14:04

Robin Williams - love Dead Poet's Society. The ending always makes me cry and seems even sadder now.

Patrick Swayze - an icon from when I was younger. Loved him in North & South and watched Point Break again recently.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 07/04/2018 16:04

Robin Williams end of night of the museum 3 really got me knowing that was it from him

Richard Attenborough-know old age but still plus being a Chelsea fan and what he did for the club.

Definitely Carrie Fisher as well. Not expected and then gone.
