Anyone got any recommendation of good scary films? I haven't seen one that's actually scared me for a long time.

"My opinion of films- pre 2008 and they're shit" - my boyfriend

Sigh. Back to the drawing board.

He also refused to watch Ju-on, he said he'd seen it and it "scared the shit out of him" Grin

Another vote for Ring (the Japansese or Korean versions) but only if you are very very very brave! Grin
Event Horizon terrified me, it's a sci-fi horror though.
The Others
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Yes sinister thanks! I didn't want to give the plot away but couldn't remember the name.

I think I have seen Shutter too, that was OK.

OMG YES EVENT HORIZON!! That is the only film that has ever really freaked me the f out. It still sends shivers to think of the afternoon I watched it, maybe 15 years ago, hungover and jet lagged in a hotel in NY. Only time a film has really creeped me out.

I am currently watching Event Horizon on Netflix, except I can't watch it all in one go even though I've seen it before!

Another vote for Event Horizon. Seriously creepy stuff!!

I am a complete wimp and as I've got older I rarely watch "scary" films.

The Grudge and The Ring are both pretty scary. I'd not watch them again (have seen them both a few times. Don't know why!!)

The orgonal Nightmare on Elm Street is my ultimate scary film and I refuse to ever watch it again. Someone told me the synopsis when I was young [10] and I eventually saw it a few years later when I stayed at a friends long before the internet it freaked the shit out of me. Have tried over the years to watch it again. And I can't. Even seeing it as I flick through the TV menu makes me feel terrified. I know it's incredibly dated now and I've watched all the 6 of the films and Wes Craven's New Nightmare. I just cannot watch that first NOES

I watched slither with a friend in a deserted English language cinema and it was terrifying. Us, two tiers of seating (like a theatre) pitch black and silent.

The grudge is great! My sister is still terrified after watching the 3rd one, I often make the noise that the woman makes and it scares the bajeebus out of her. I am yet to find one that really scares me so I may give a few of the ones on this thread a go!
