kittyb · 31/07/2006 18:17

saw it this morning with almost 5 year old (boy) and I liked it - wasnt expecting to. Nowhere near Toystory but way better than say chicken little

cutekids · 31/07/2006 18:26

was going to take my kids to see this but-can you believe this?-he saw it in school just before they broke up apparently!!! (pirate copies in school?!) mind you, he could just be winding me up!

Why is it a PG, not a U? Does anyone know? Or can guess?

trinityrhino · 31/07/2006 18:38

Sorry, trinityrhino! I know loads of people with pirate copies of films also!!! I was just a little surprised that someone would have the nerve to send one into school...I imagine teacher probably didn't even realize it was a pirate (quite strict!).

Gillian76 · 31/07/2006 18:53

I was surprised at it being PG as well. Think it's maybe to do with the noise and collisions at the race track.

DH and I enjoyed it too. And I agree, far better than Chicken Little (actually I hated Chicken Little!)

My DS1 (just turned 4) wants to see this. He's never been to the cinema before. I was a bit worried because it is a PG. But do you think it is okay??

SherlockLGJ · 31/07/2006 19:21

We went to see it at the W/E it is a two hour film.

And to quote DH, an hour too long. Crapola

naswm · 31/07/2006 19:28

yes but it's not aimed at them is it?!

SherlockLGJ · 31/07/2006 19:30

Do you mean it is not aimed at the adults ??

My DH made the comment because, we had a private viewing with school and all of the 5 year olds got fidgety after an hour.

naswm · 31/07/2006 19:35

Oh I assumed it wasnt aimed at the adults, but maybe I was wrong!!!!!!!!

roisin · 31/07/2006 19:43

The website says "mild language and intense action" against the PG rating.
Anyone care to comment?
(This is for wimpy ds2 (7) who recently refused to watch Chicken Little, because he'd heard the tape at school and it was sad/scary )

SherlockLGJ · 31/07/2006 19:44

naswm

What I am trying to say is, it was aimed at the children, but IMHO it missed by a mile in the middle.

Gillian76 · 31/07/2006 19:46

My DD1 is a complete scaredy cat and was fine. The noise was a bit intense to begin with.

Yes, they got fidgety after the first hour, but I have yet to find something that would hold their attention for 2 whole hours!

4yo DD is keen to go and see this, along with her friend. Just got to find a spare day one weekend!

She likes her films at the moment and luckily will sit long enough without gtting dored. have recently had to watch Mary Poppins over and over - now that IS a long film - I had never realised before!

trace2 · 01/08/2006 21:00

ds went last night with dh he said it was great dh said he sat all way no moaning too hes 4

swedishmum · 04/08/2006 00:14

I quite liked the ending but thought it was really boring - popped out for a coffee break half way through. Ds and his friend (both 9) seemed to enjoy it much more than me though. We only went because Garfield was full.

fairyfly · 04/08/2006 00:24

It's just bizzare when Jeremy Clarkeson speaks, i spent the entire film thinking of Top Gear.

Then when i left the film on the drive home i started try and get eye contact with bonnets and head lights making sure they were alright.

threebob · 04/08/2006 00:46

Ds is 3 and sat through the whole thing, not once but 3 times (with a different care giver each time - no adult was prepared to go 3 times).

He is very good at sitting still for movies or concerts. He was the only child not playing at the front (pre school session on a weekday).

Furball · 05/08/2006 04:04

Ds (5) and I went yesterday. Both really enjoyed it. He's a huge fan of cars and motorsport so to a) hear Jeremy Clarksons voice and b) Michael Shumachers made it even more exciting for him. I found the 2 hours went quite quickly. There were only 5 people including us two in the whole cinema!

Chicken Little was just shear dirge and a complete waste of time. - Does anyone know anyone who thought Chicken Little to be a good film? When we got back and relayed the story to DH it sounded like some weird hallucination/dream.
