Just been in a training session at my school and this is what the trainer has said. She followed with "because they don't have a club to be part of..."

It's made me so mad.

Well, we don't really know whether we'd be anywhere close to where we are now if we'd lived in a matriarchy.

Plenty of studies show that women don't collaborate as well as men and don't like working for one another. I remember watching a 'battle of the sexes' TV show set on a island. The men had built shelter and were barbecuing on the beach by the second day. The woman hadn't built anything and were still squabbling.

I'd emphasise that this isn't my anecdotal opinion, I'm stating what happened.

Any chance of seeing these studies?

SilenceInside · 06/09/2024 00:32

I didn't say a matriarchy. Simply if women been allowed access to education, work, positions of responsibility and so on in the last 150 years. Interesting that you interpreted that as a matriarchy.

SilenceInside · 06/09/2024 00:33

I also don't think that what happened on an entertainment tv show is evidence of anything meaningful at all, obviously!

I don't understand your point about China, women are very involved in the workforce and therefore there is a modicum of equality. Women were often educated in and sent to work in whatever professions had a need, so there are a lot of women in STEM.

Perhaps but forced abortions and the attitude towards 'leftover women' (those who aren't married by 25yo) are a bit of a deal breaker for me, along with the widespread killing of female babies who are traditionally seen as less desirable.

All countries are mysogynist; it's a spectrum.

I didn't interpret anything. I'm just saying we often take for granted the world men have built and we can't really assume we would've done as good a job. I admire men as well as women.

Galadriell · 06/09/2024 00:38

What's the famous saying....equality can feel like oppression to the privileged.

I also think equality can feel like misogyny to those that don't like men.

What does equality mean to you and which country best fits that description?

SilenceInside · 06/09/2024 00:41

I wonder who you think doesn't like men?

A lot of feminists.

The feminist icon Robin Morgan was actually quoted as saying "I feel that man-hating is an honorable and viable political act".

At least she was honest.

SilenceInside · 06/09/2024 00:49

A lot? More than the one you've just mentioned? Evidence?

username44416 · 06/09/2024 00:51

They don't supply evidence. Just throw out wild generalisations. When challenged they don't respond. It's the MRA energiser bunny.

SilenceInside · 06/09/2024 00:55

""I feel that "man-hating" is an honorable and viable political act, that the oppressed have a right to class-hatred against the class that is oppressing them." Interesting that the full sentence has more to it than the more eye catching first clause. She's talking about a political act against an oppressing class.

You haven't supplied any data.

Well, aside from the 13 studies on the previous page. 😂 Posted at 20:04. One is a meta study of 1700 peer reviewed studies and another is a 32 nation study.

Why lie about this stuff when people can actually see the links?

Speaking of dishonesty, you really gave yourself away posting the exact same stuff, almost word for word, which you posted under your other name- the same studies, the same description of the studies, the same tone and the same complaints.
So if I was you I'd be more careful with this sort of behaviour. I wouldn't report it, but somebody else might. It's a big no-no to name change or use a different account so you have double the opportunity to derail threads.
I thought you would want to know that it's risky.

By hating the class of men she just means it's OK to hate all men.

SilenceInside · 06/09/2024 01:04

I disagree, she's talking politically not personally.

I don't reckon it'd go over particularly well if somebody said they politically hated POC or Muslims.

SilenceInside · 06/09/2024 01:10

I don't think that anyone would think that POC or Muslims are responsible for violence against women in the way that men are. Do you?

It doesn't always have to be about VAWG.

MI5 state that Islamist violence is currently the biggest terrorist threat to the UK. Can we politically hate Muslims for this in your opinion?

SilenceInside · 06/09/2024 01:17

No, because that statement is about Islamist terrorists not Muslims.

Saschka · 06/09/2024 01:21

MissEsmeWatson · 02/09/2024 11:44

I agree. In the seventies we wanted domestic violence to be taken seriously and to get equal wage for equal work. I'm not sure anyone wanted to have to go out to work rather than look after their babies because they can't afford the mortgage/rent on just one wage, but here we are. Punishment for getting uppity, I expect.

But men have had higher rates of mental health problems than women since st least the 70s, so by this woman’s reckoning, it was the votes for women and outlawing of marital rape that did all the damage…

But all Islamist terrorism is Muslim terrorism.

Galadriell · 06/09/2024 02:16

100% of Islamist terrorism is committed by Muslims. Don't you see the problem?
