I want him not to be able to give me the flannel that we have to be kind to the woMen. I want assurances that we do t have to share our spaces. I want to not sound like the very nervous person that am I!

Any help appreciated?

I sometimes wonder if many ordinary men have gone ‘there’ in their mind and can’t help but sympathise at some level.

Then, at another, it doesn’t
affect most of them, but they’ll keep loyal to other men doing their thing.

I agree. Apparently cross dressing is really quite prevalent.

Please can anyone who feels the same email their local MP now - it’s a very quick process - and say something along these lines? ‘ Starmer non answers and “twaddle” today have just lost this candidate x votes from my household.’

Yes I agree, but I also think this should be levelled at Lib Dem candidates too. My lib dem candidate is Hannah Kitching. She is a massive trans advocate, hater or anyone with our views, and is all all over twitter attacking and blocking anyone who questions womens rights. There's even a thread on here about her!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/06/2024 09:11

It's grim. An 'advisor', or several, behind the scenes will have gleefully seized on that and told Starmer, ah, we've got him! Whenever you can, keep bringing up that Sunak cocked that up. Make it sound deliberate, say it's a 'joke' at the mother's expense. As soon as you're questioned, deflect to that. We'll practice so it's automatic.

This. Some TRAs on Reddit have derangedly repackaged it as "Sunak joked in front of Brianna's mother about her daughter's genitals". This is very typical logic that they use. I'm not sure they even see it as lying.

TheaBrandt · 29/06/2024 09:13

Absolutely agree NoWord we both in that profession too. Legally a woolly definition of “woman” is a disaster.

Can only think it must be the “piggy backing” with gay rights and anyone that doesn’t whole heartedly cheerlead is basically keely hawes character in Its A Sin.

I explained the issue to Dh he just didnt believe me at first it all sounded so ridiculous.

Devonbabs · 29/06/2024 09:27

Well I guess we all now know just how he wants to deal with “difficult” women, ie ones who don’t agree with him. Makes you wonder what he’s like in private without the cameras on him!

UpThePankhurst · 29/06/2024 09:29

It is important to remember: This is Labour on their absolute best behaviour with an election in a few days .

If they behave like this now, wtaf will they say and do after July 5th when they're safely untouchable for 5 years?

And yes, it's bloody obvious they've done a deal with Stonewall et al. To the tune of 'let us make nice soothing noises at the stupid bats until they put the cross in the box and then we'll do whatever you say'.

Seriously, I would expect posting on MN FWR to be a hate crime very quickly.

No, this joining of dots that aren't there in order to create a strawman of gargantuan proportions seems to be tactic that's on the rise everywhere.

Judging by his utter refusal to comprehend that most people disagree with him, I should imagine he is being advised by some very extreme transactivists of the type you describe.

And he simply can't be arsed to listen to anyone else.

I genuinely believe it sometimes is just a matter of apathy. We know that the issue is dense, comprehensive, and widespread with many different layers. You can't just grasp everything in one briefing.

It wouldn't at all surprise me if he had outsourced his thinking on the basis that it's niche, difficult to get to grips with, and yes of course, it's only about women.

Me neither. For eg to that Stonewall arse who marks up women's writing with red pens on Twitter.

And drag queen Seb Samuel, who calls himself Aida HD complaining to Pink News that women on MN had threatened to crucify him, which was because someone said that "anyone else using ADHD in that way would be crucified" 🙄

No way! Ffs.

I'm so glad, Eresh, that you're on Twitter, so I don't have to be!

What a cracking, and I fear, Cassandra-like post.

"The battle brewing at the heart of Starmer’s super-majority Britain
Pressure from factions led by Angela Rayner and Rachel Reeves could define Labour’s time in power – and leave their leader isolated
...

Endorsing Stonewall’s rights agenda
One issue that has attracted an unexpected level of attention in this campaign, an issue that Starmer looks visibly uncomfortable discussing, is women’s rights, specifically in relation to the encroachment of those rights by trans peoplee_.
And while the Labour leader has been seen to move incrementally away from the position he previously adopted – support for self-ID for trans people and his ridicule-attracting comment that “99.9 per cent of women… haven’t got a penis” – he is regarded with deep suspicion by feminists, including the Harry Potter author JK Rowling and one of his own MPs, Rosie Duffieldd_, who is standing for re-election in Canterbury.
Labour’s manifesto faces both ways on the trans issue. It promises a “trans-inclusive ban” on conversion practices, which is widely expected to endorse therapies that affirm the desires of individuals, including children, to adopt a new gender identity.

But the manifesto also commits a Labour government to implementing the Cass Review (into trans health services for young people in England), which raises serious questions about the wisdom of “affirmation” therapy when it comes to gender-questioning young people.
No one knows for sure what Starmer believes on this thorny issue; during the campaign he has repeatedly hidden his views behind cosy phrases about the toxicity of the debate and how it must be conducted in a respectful manner.
But he has signally failed to echo the Conservative promise to secure female-only spaces by redefining “sex” as “biological sex” in the Equality Act.
Which makes feminists and their allies suspect the worst: that a Starmer-led government will – perhaps by inaction – endorse fully the Stonewall agenda by making it easier for men to identify as women and invade women’s spacess_, sports and services."

Would that be by any chance about the bestiality float spotted at a Pride parade?

No! I don't think so. It was something that Allison Bailey said originally.

But bloody hell, he's toast if that's true. 😄

We already know that Labour are likely to pull the dodgy tradesman routine over the economy - "Sorry love, this is worse than I thought. It's gonna cost a fortune to fix this!" And that's not just me saying it in a rant, head of the IFS Paul Johnson has said exactly the same thing about all the parties effectively lying about their financial plans.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same over The Cass Report - "Oh everything is in such a terrible state, we really don't have time to do anything with his right now. But we'll get to it eventually, don't you worry." <cue tumbleweed for the next 5 years>

YellowDayToday · 29/06/2024 10:14

I just wanted to come back to say that I have had a reply to my email that I sent to the Labour Candidate in my constituency. I’m actually pleasantly surprised, he makes it clear that he recognises biological sex and references Professor Robert Winston.

Sadly I live in a pretty safe Conservative constituency but this election could be different I guess. Still lots to think about but I just wanted to encourage everyone to email their candidate today.

But apparently all good family friendly fun! We had a boss (big 4accountacy) who strong armed his team into going each year.

Make no mistake - many bosses in big business will take any opportunity to make women feel as uncomfortable and silenced at work as possible. What better way that subjecting them to mens sexual fetishes, threatening them with the sack if the raise women’s rights.

None of this is about helping those who have issues with their body, it’s about silencing and subjugating women. Nothing else makes sense.

Starmer really does need to get to grips with the idea that Jane is not an outlier, in fact Jane represents most people.

He clearly is being told lies by his advisors. One wonders why would he believe anything that they say given they obviously say men can be women on their say so, the emperor has no clothes and the earth is flat.

I'm sort of at a loss about it. The Tories might act against the general interest but they are at least intelligent enough to try and understand what the bulk of the electorate think (and then use it to get what they want e.g. Brexit).

Hyperions · 29/06/2024 10:31

I have to keep saying this but Jeremy Corbyn wanted Brexit just as much as Farage did. The Labour Party sat on the fence about Brexit. The Tories were split and the Lib Dem's were pro remain.

True.

It was only the LibDems that came out firmly against Brexit.

Labour have to address their contribution to Brexit as well, not weasel out.
