Disappointed but not surprised to learn she’s a fawning handmaiden, another rich spoiled out of touch woman who needs to engage her brain and understand that Dylan is taking the piss out of her and every other woman on earth with Dylan’s mocking, sexist parody of womanhood and insistence on stealing opportunities from women whenever Dylan gets the chance.

I’ve no idea why anyone is surprised by this. Lady Gaga refers to her loyal fans as ‘Little Monsters’ and she’s proud of scooping up all the little geeks, weirdos and misfits. She likes to defy convention and all the gender ‘play’ is right up her street. I doubt someone who hangs out in Berlin clubs like Lab.Oratory and takes a piss without fussing to take her fishnets off (cf Caitlin Morgan’s amusing article about a night out with her in the aforementioned Berlin sex club in 2010) is going to find Dylan Mulvaney anything other than a fabulous, camp theatre kid who is suitably gushing.

I don’t think Gaga would mind seeing cocks in the women’s. However, she might be more resentful of someone catapulting to stratospheric fame minus the talent and hard graft that she’s had to put in to get to where she is now. I mean really Dylan has only done a little bit of broadway and has gained their fame through dress up and comedy skits on social media.

I think the best thing to do with all the transwomen Women’s Day chancers is to sigh, ignore and move on. It takes up too much precious time otherwise. I’ve got gardening and policy-reading to do - my New Years resolution was to stop wasting energy getting annoyed by the provocateurs and channel my efforts into having conversations and challenging injustices in real-life wherever possible.

It’s tough, I’ll admit but I’m getting better at it 😊

I’m sure Gaga recognises Dylan as someone who loves fashion, playing to the camera, provoking outrage and getting up people’s noses. I think Gaga would lose a large part of her audience base if she openly rejected what Dylan represents in today’s image-obsessed culture. Gaga has never been interested in the politics of anything other than the politics of self-expression. It’s been ego ego all the way. She does have a fabulous voice and is a major talent though. Dylan has a theatre-school voice and a talent for self-publicity - not an equal of Gaga in any way, shape or form.

Gaga has been a long supporter of LGBT+ people for a long time, this is hardly a surprise.
