There seems to have been some last minute drama with the venue cancelling on Filia and then uncancelling after a letter from Filias lawyers. <sigh>

Shocked to read the statement from Filia, re TRAs trying to get the event cancelled at the last moment.

Thank goodness for prompt decisive action from the legal team to protect our rights of assembly.

Yes, LM etc al had lawyers primed & ready for this eventuality. Expecting some protestors - par for the course [sigh].

'Despite the event having been booked and paid for and over 1000 women having arranged flights, accommodation (many of whom are of limited means and have survived male oppression and violence), the venue, Platform and its staff were placed under extraordinary pressure from an online pressure group who attempted to force the venue into cancelling the event.

The owners and staff of the venue were pressurised to such a degree that they cancelled the event less than twelve hours before FiLiA were due to set up for the three day conference.

FiLiA considered that the proposed actions of the venue were unlawful and instructed their lawyers, Levy & McRae, to take immediate action.

FiLiA were pleased that the venue sensibly backed down after Levy & McRae’s intervention and appreciate the stance that Platform ultimately took . '

I'd love to know how they get to be so powerful that a few blue haired loons can get a venue to cancel a big event just like that.

I mean surely the venue would lose a lot of ££££ so they must have thought they'd have more to lose by NOT cancelling presumably in threats to reputation? How does the woke stasi do it?

Am I missing a lot by not using the app? I looked at the web version of the schedule booker, which I find a bit cumbersome to use since if you open something, you have to return to the previous page rather than opening it out on the same (meant more for phones, I guess), but I hate apps and I do very little on my phone, so I'm resistant.

I'm not managing to re log in to the app, it tells me I need a code and check my email and yes, I have checked the junk, but nothing. 🤷‍♀️

There's no refresh or resend option. ☹️

I had to do a password reset. Have you tried using the link from the original email, but on your phone-?

I've tried phone and iPad, deleting the app and reinstalling.
I've emailed to request a new code.
Meanwhile I can't find the program tomorrow. I guess there will be programs when we check in but it's a bit annoying.

Someone must have told the train operating company that taking women to Glasgow for Filia was a transphobic action.

Bloody hell. Last year when it was in Cardiff, a car drove into a bridge near Newport (I think) on the Friday & loads of trains were held up. It never occurred to me at the time that it might be anything more than an accident....

I was on that first held up train it was frustrating as we had all been standing with our bags to get off,bonus points I had been talking with some female rugby players who thought TWAW and we were stuck together.
