I thought serious crimes were always heard in crown court.

Why magistrates?

That's odd surely?

Whatever the view people have on releasing names etc. Why hasn't he been suspended from the council while this is happening?

@NiceGerbil all cases start off in Magistrates Court, it will probably be committed for trial at Crown Court.

I hope that for the sake of the alleged victim it does not take years for the case to be heard and justice to be done.

Worth remembering that this man had a history of assisting pedophiles, and inappropriate contact with school girls.

Also worth remembering, in general, how few men actually get convicted of sex crimes, relative to the number of sexual assaults which happen to women and girls. It's somewhere in the region of 1% of those REPORTED. And we know most women and girls do not report the incident because they know there is no point, so I dread to think how many others would be on that list if perpetrators were routinely caught and convicted of their crimes.

I'm sure there are many. It seems to be an issue with men generally, not particular to one subgroup.

I just tried to Google but it's not easy.

It would take time to complie as the person has done for the labour list.
