The GP thinks I have anxiety rather than Depression so will SJW help?

Not sure but would be worth a try, although DO check carefully if you are on any regular medicine - St John's Wort interacts with all sorts of things, from anti-epileptics to warfarin and a dozen others.

Sorry to hear you are suffering from anxiety, btw. How's dd doing?

Katymac · 12/06/2010 19:56

About the same - I am struggling to deal with it

I think I have become fixated on her having a MRI despite a real possibility that it is unnecessary

But everyone I speak to asks what are her MRI results/has she had an MRI?

I'm not on any other medication at all

Everyone as in friends and family or everyone as in doctors?

Sorry to hear dd is no better, must be miserable (massive understatement). Were you dealing with Moorfields?

I'd be ruddy anxious too in the circs. Maybe you should go and have a chat with a pharmacist in Boots or a pharmacy where they stock herbal and homeopathic medicines? Is it stopping you sleeping? Lavender oils, lavender pillows, milky drinks, all that stuff...?

btw, is there any reason to avoid an MRI scan? Any reason why the docs wouldn't want her to have one? I've had one when I started having seizures and I don't remember it being particularly problematic, although the (barium or something?) drink does make you feel a bit odd.

We went to GOSH - who checked her eyes (again) & said they were fine

Everyone: opticians in USA & Australia plus a behavioural Optometrist, my childhood friend (a DR at the Royal Free), my dad's childhood friend (a paediatric consultant - retired), a GP on here, the sensory support team, the lady at the National Blind Children's Association

Oh yes & everyone I meet

Well I have ME/CFS so actually my sleeping has risen dramatically so have the tears

Sorry Katy, real life called. God. Don't know what to say. Apart from bags of sympathy.

Sounds as if you need to keep pressing for an MRI to find out exactly what is going on - but might be worth looking up Moorfields too. They run lots of services around the country as well as in London.

Really hope things get LOTS better soon.

I decided against the SJW anyway - it has anxiety as a side affect.....I've got all I need

Damn! Mind you, if you check medicine labels, they often list bizarre side effects. I've got a ruddy headache, I don't want a drug that lists 'headaches and nausea' as possible effects...

Hope things get LOTS better v. v. soon.
