I am having my 3rd CBT session tomorrow and I've left it till the last minute to do.

My anxiety centres around intrusive/obsessive thoughts, mostly about death. (Natural disasters/nuclear war/asteroids/plane crashes, you name it I panic about it!!)

I sought help at the start of this year after a really bad xmas/new year. It felt like I was getting one panic attack on top of another. I was convinced something awful was going to happen and it got to the stage where I could barely leave the house.

I feel much better physically now although I still have these scenarios running through my head on a daily basis and I avoid many normal situations which I am fearful of.

So (get to the point!) who has done an anxiety ladder, how much detail did you go in to? And did it help you?

Thankyou Trinity. I have read many of your posts and often think of you (not in a stalker-type way I promise!) My husband was widowed 16 years ago and my Mum lost my Dad 11 years ago. I hate to see others going through that pain.

Makes my issues seem trivial really. And I know that they are, and that's why I'm getting help to try and make them go away!

How did it go? I am in the same position as you with cbt and so have to do a ladder also, I didnt go into too much detail, more of a list with a 1 - 10 scale for my anxiety felt. Im more social anxiety so my things are like 'take kids on bus to softplay', 'go to an exercise class' etc. Im sure this means nothing to you now lol

I hope that your cbt is going well and that you are finding it helpful
