Irrational fear of health visitors

I haven't had my dd weighed since she was 6 months old. She is nearly a year. She has only ever been weighed by a health visitor twice in her entire life. Last time I went to the baby clinic I ended up in a cold sweat and found the waiting area, crowds and noise too much.

There are no development reviews in our area, but I am curious to know how much she weighs. I'm getting a bit narked with everyone telling me how tiny my dd is.

However I am terrified of going to the baby clinic, the supermarket, sports centre or anywhere where there are lots of people.

I struggled with getting my ds weighed as he was and is tiny (he's 2 and a bit and weighs about 10kilograms)but my rational dh has finally got through to me that he weighs what he weighs whether I know it or not..

He's also disabled and can't stand alone, at the 2 year check the hv made him sit on standing up scales and said he weiged 7.5kilos

So now we weigh him ourselves - there's a great baby weigh facility on the wii fit

You can also weigh yourself on your own scales and then weigh yourself holding baby and detract one from the other. Reliable enough to give you a rough idea.

And eh...babies come in al shapes and sizes. Mine is on the 0.4th centile - that's perfectly normal. His paediatrician says he's not underweight, just short!
