I am hearing things, like thinking my dh as said something, the door, my phone, as well as seeing things out of the corner of my eye, well actually more of movement thinking I ahve seen something move, sometiumes theres nothing there smetimes its a bit of fluff. Am I going mad? I am under stress at the moment. Is it related?

Stress and possible sleep deprivation as result of stress? If you feel very on edge it means your senses are too. Unless you feel threatened by things you think you see or hear it's most likely harmless although it sounds like you should try and cope with your stress as well as you can.

Thanks for replying wst, I don't feel threatened by whats happening just a bit werid esp when I'm asking dh what he wants and he doesn't know what i'm on about

Not much i can do about the stress, one of my paretns has cancer. The bit you say about being on the edge is a very good way to describe how i feel atm. Have been having some dizzy speels over the weekend and think i am developing ibs also.

I'm sorry one of your parents has cancer - that's hugely stressful and no you can't take that stress away.

I recognise most your symptoms from myself (have PTSD and although better now have periods of totally acute stress) although I would counsel a GP visit if dizzy spells are frequent/persistent.

Try to manage your stress by sleeping as well as you can. Personally I find valerian tea helpful to wind down and fall asleep, messing about on the wii fit helps too (especially the boxing and yoga) but a walk will have the same effect. Avoid lots of caffeine and sugar (my downfall).

And talk - real friends don't get bored hearing about your parent's illness.

I've been having this, I keep thinking my phone is going or if I'm in the car I'm convinced I can hear sirens and pull over . I also think I see things out the corner of my eye, like a spider running across the floor, but there is nothing there.

I've been experiencing high levels of stress, as my stress has lessened so have these 'episodes'

Thanks, I don't have any problem with sleeping (touch wood), is that really strange? GP seemed to dismiss me after asking me if I was having trouble sleeping (hadn't mentioned seeing hearing things as hadn't really linked togther), dd hasn't been sleeping well recently but defo feel like i want to sleep more than normal. When ahve been stressed at work beofre it has always effected my sleep. Defo need to increase exercise/getting out of the house though. Talkig about it is something i am fnding very difficult I ahve now told a couple of friends but tbh i just want to burst into tears if i talk about it, not a few delicate drops but full on sobs

well those sobs obviously need out - it will at least for a time decrease your stress levels and it is nothing to be ashamed about (says she who cried on a friend's strong shoulder for the first time in her life aged 35)

Hi love,

Well, you need to see a doctor who will take the time to LISTEN so he/she can make a correct dignoises.

Your symptoms could be indications of many things or nothing at all (Just your brain working things out).

If it carries on please go get a second opinion (and tell them everything).

Good luck!
