Does this man have a "condition"?

Having read the thread on parent with narcissitic personality disorder (NPD) recently it got me wondering about my cousin's husband. I'm not sure he fits NPD, but maybe he has some other condition?! He's certainly a pain to live with!

My cousin met him fairly young and he has controlled her life ever since (10 years). He only met her family a couple of times before the wedding and since then has cut her off from them by moving to america. They have no friends as a couple. He never got on with her parents and often wouldn't let them visit her even when they were in England. I would have thought that most men would just go out for a drink when the dreaded inlaws pop round for a cuppa?

He dictates to people where they can sit, which mug they can use etc etc when they visit. He nevers takes my cousin out, never has baby sitters in and they live like ships in the night; she is the bread winner working from 8 - 4, then he goes out to do some free lance work from 4 - 7pm, leaving her to cook, clean and put the kids to bed.

They move house about once a year. Dunno why, my cousin says it's nothing suspicious...

He is always saying, "Wouldn't it be great if....?" and controlling things his way. We just think "wouldn't it be great if you p*ed off?!"

Is 'arsehole' a recognised condition yet?

I'm not sure why everything has to be labelled these days. Why not just tell your cousin he is a twunt and she should leave? Rather than, oh he might have such and such condition, you should do x, y and z.

LOL Arsehole is a word we've used a lot!

And yes, of course we've told her he's a twat and she should leave, but she won't (yet).

Just wondering because their DS (3) has special needs and is under assessment and I know these things can run in families.

So, just a controlling twat..........?

bump

I really would be interested in others' opinions. He has caused our family a lot of upset.
